Hey Guys, how about Derek Remitz!!! I don't know how many of you know but Derek is from North Branch and he's a favorite around Rush Lake. That happens to be where his parents live. Hope your rooting for our home town kid. He qualified for the classic by taking 1st in the Northern division. He didn't make the cut at 25 but 34th is still not a bad showing, but 1st going into the last day of your first Elite tourney is better. Wish him luck!!

First i would like to say Congrats To Derek!!! smile.gif I have read some story on him and how he decide to leave everything and move down south to try to go pro... Well he did that and then some... Its sweet to see someone that is from Minnesota hang with the big dogs.

Second i just want every to know the class that Ike showed after the tournament. You either love him or hate smirk.gif him but the class that he showed Derek after the tournament makes me respect him even more. To say that "hes is kind of happy he didn’t win so Derek would know what its like to be financial good as a pro" it just showing you he has class. Ike has won a lot of money and it really isn’t a issue with him… yea he’s mad he didn’t win but still… Thats my .02 on that!! wink.gif

It is great to see, and if anyone is interested in how he got there, just google Derek Remitz and click on Who is Derek Remitz. He has fished our Wed. nite bass league on Rush a couple of times a few years ago. You couldn't ask for a better way to start you Elite career. Sincerely, Dean

Hey guys, I was pullin big time for Derek too! I was real dissapointed in the articles on Bassmaster that they claimed he was from Alabama.

That may be where he's living now but not where he's from. There should be more write ups on him. Look at the press Ish Monroe got after winning Amistad last year.

We gotta see more articles about Derek, I hope.

What a great deal a young success story from MN.

Maybe Hella Bass can tell us how this kid is so good so young? Two years ago he's just a good stick on a Bass club, the next year he wins the Northern Series, Now he's got a good Classic finish and an Elite win starting his second pro year! Unreal, Where does he go from here? AOY?

just curious. how many rush lakes are there in mn? the one i know of is in ottertail co. my grandpa used to have a camper up there when i was a kid. it was loaded with bass, but mostly got hit for eyes and sunnies. not that it changes anything about derek's success. i think he will be the first of many midwesterners to make a splash on the big money tours cool.gif

Hey Guys,

back from Amistad, finished a respectable 32nd out of 108. I also fished on the last practice day with Derek wink.gif

You can check my Bassin' Blog for more details on my trip and fishing with Derek. Its not all up right now, but more in the coming days....

Hellabass,

Congratulations on your finish. It is a VERY RESPECTABLE finish. Many anglers that do not fish big tournaments may not realize just how tough the competition is and really how hard it is to finish that well against a field like that. Good Fishing!!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
