Costa Del Mar glasses

I haven't looked at the costal del mar line of sunglasses. But, last year I finally broke down and bought a nice pair of oakley polarized ones and wow! they really are better than the cheaper ones, just gotta be a little more careful. grin.gif

For recomendations, I would look for a style that covers your peripheral(sp?) vision and ones that don't let sunlight in from anywhere around the edges of the sunglasses. I personally like amber for the lens color and I also know people who have specific colors for certain conditions. I've heard many good things about the Costa Del Mar sunglasses, I'd say its a good choice!

I have 3 pair of Fathoms.. and love em.. they fit my head like a pair of sunglasses should. I can not guarentee that they wouldfit your head as good as they fit mine... If I had to pick only one color lense, I might go with ltgrey...I have the amber and vermillion... I love the vermilion for bright days and the amber for overcast.

I've had 2 pairs of deep blues for a couple years now...vermillion and gray. I tried a pair of fathoms but they were a little narrow for my big head, they fit my adult son perfectly. I prefer glass lenses myself; don't mind the weight and I think they scratch less. CDM's are great glasses...

I have a couple of pairs, a pair of wave killers, and a new style that I can't remmber the name of, they have interchangeable lenses. I have sunrise, amber and gray lenses. For lense colors, amber is a good all around choice, but I like the gray when it is real bright. As mentioned before, make sure you find a pair that "fits" your head.

I'm on my third pair of Costas and I highly recommend them.

As far as style pick the ones that fit your face the best! I've tried triple tail but they hurt my ears when I was on the water for over 12 hours. Now I have some that fit better and don't allow light in the sides. I prefer the new wave 580 glass lenses, because they are just as light as the polycarbonate lens and they don't show scratches like plastic will. I also like the amber color because the green colors really stand out. This makes it easier for me to see weed edges and fish in clear water. I can also wear them when running my bass boat at high speeds in low light conditions, where you would have to take of the grey colored lenses to see.

Funny. My dome is extra large as well. REI suggested Native Eyewear. I went with the Tare and can't say enough about how much I like them. I keep the polarized bronze lenses in all the time, but the Tare lets you switch out colors if you want. They come with bronze, orange, yellow and even clear. (I guess bike riders use the clear.) They're awesome angling glasses.

They do not. The brown were the only polarized ones in the set that came with my glasses. I do believe you can purchase additional lenses from Native though. But I've been wearing my well into the twilight hours. The browns seem to work great even in low light.

I have a pair of Fathom's with amber lenses and really like them. It's incredible how well you can see through the water. And they are very comfortable. By far the best pair of glasses I've owned.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
