Your Favorite Ice Reel?

Cheap little reel that I really like is the Masterpiece reels from HT. Six bearings, nice drag, and all less then 15 bucks. I wasn't complaining on my reduced budget.

I have multiple, but my favorite from this year is the Bass Pro Shops TinyLite. Field and Stream rated it must have new gear of the year. So yeah I splurged and spent the whopping $17.99 and can't think of enough good things to say about it. One word that sticks out is smooooooth!!!

I use mostly Ticas also. They are great reels from winter and for light tackle in the summer.

I sure hate those cheapo ice reels that gets your line all twisted and tangled up! LOL's

So I use my regular summer reels, the small ones. No complaints but any less meddling is worth the effort twice.

As far as ice reels for open water. Most of my ice reels are way to small to balance out most of my open water rods. Even my ultralites are 6.5-7 footers and need a 200 size reel. When the ice is gone I take all my ice reels and back off the drags and store em...
