0 PikeBayCommanche
Del,For sure. Dream boat. Black and Silver. My dad and I are going in on it together for the place on Pike Bay. Nothing you can't do with that boat.

0 Duffman
Hmmmm....which motor would look best on the back of that black boat? (Disclaimer:) (Biased question from a guy with a Suzuki DF60 on the back of a black boat )
0 PikeBayCommanche
Duff,I have heard good things about the Suzuki 4 strokes. The issue also with this is the Yam. has a T8 kicker on it too. I really want a kicker so I might have to see how much it will be to put a kicker on the one with the Suzuki. The Suzuki engine looks a little smaller also.
0 marine_man
Any difference in price (excluding the kicker)? If not, or it's marginal I'd go with the Yamaha mostly based on past experience and on the large number of dealers who are certified yamaha warranty repair places... there may be less suzuki ones... Not that there's anything wrong with Suzuki... but when I'm broke down in the middle of no where often times you'll have better luck finding a yamaha dealer who carries the parts than a suzuki dealer who carries the parts.marine_man
0 Ralph Wiggum
Quote: Nothing you can't do with that boat. Oh yeah? I've seen stretches of the Mississippi and Minnesota that would shred that boat
0 PikeBayCommanche
Your right about that Ralph!! Thats why I am getting rid of my Ranger Bass boat. Not enough places around he to utilize it. Going to get a Duck/river boat for Iowa fishin. That would not be a good feeling loosing a lower unit on a boulder. 0 Shorelunch
Pike, I'm a fan of the Suzuki's - I used to have one myself. They're both solid motors. Bemidji Marine, I belive is a Suzuki dealer, so you should theorectically, anyway, be covered up here in the great white north.
0 cjac
I fished out of a 620 with the 250 Yammy and the 8 kicker a couple times this year. Yeah, the Yammy is big, but at 250 they're all huge! I run a 115 HP Yammy and have been very happy, as have Suzuki owners. Can't lose either way..One thing I'd look into is how long each company has made the 250, I can't recall myself. Thought being any issues in the first year would hopefully have been addressed in following years. My $0.02 worth.....
