joe_stack20
my favorite way of eating goose is this. 1. take 2 breast and have them smoked 2. take out the crok pot 3. throw both breasts in. 4. crank crok pot on high. 5. Open a cold Beer 6. throw in 2 bottles of your favorite BBQ sauce. 7. Crack open another beer. (the first one should be done by now) 8. after a few hours with take a fork and stir the maet up..it should be tender enough and should just fall apart. 9. grab a couple hamburger buns and now you got your sandwich meat...with a cold frosty! eyepatrol
I want to thank everyone for sharing all the different recipes for making geese! I'm gonna start at the top of the list and work my way down through basically each one of them. This morning, I started with the crockpot and cream of mushroom soup, except that I used woodview's recipe which basically combines hanson's with a 1/2 can of diet coke. I'm a little leary of the coke thing as it looked a little weird in the crockpot, but I'll give it a shot and see how my tastebuds handle it. Thanks everyone. I've got some geese now that I'm going to experiment with.
Fishdeer
Here's my favorite.I take the 2 slabs of breast meat and soke them in heavy salt water overnight. Rinse off and i smoke them , anyhow you can. I use a simple old grill build a good fire on one end using wood, let the fire burn down to coals, then add a piece of wood everynow and then . put the breast on the other side of the grill and slow cook-smoke them till done . Then i slice the breast in strips like 1/2 inch jerky . Its the best ive tasted to my preference. Great to eat while out hunting for more.
LABS4ME
Hey Basscatcher... whenever using recipies that call for Coke, always use Coke Classic. Never use Diet coke. You need the sugars in the pop to make it right. I've been told the diet coke will actually increase the bitterness. We do the coke thing all the time... w/ goose or venison Season meat with salt/pepper and/or whatever you wish Set in crock pot sprinkle on 1/2 pkg of Liptons onion soup mix over the meat add can of Coke Classic a little bit of minced garlic Cook on low 6-8 hours The last hour or so, add a package of frozen pearl onions thicken gravy after removing meat slice and serve over rice, potatoes or noodles DELICIOUS! Good Luck! Ken
Gordie
tried something new on my geese --- took 2 goose breasts and merinated them with bbq sauce 1/2 cup then 2cups pickle juice ,1tbsp black pepper, 3-4 tbsp italian herb seasoning (Durkee Grill Creations) mixed all ingredients together then used a meat tenderizor on breasts, then merinated over night. I grilled them but I'm sure you could bake this also.I also used some of the merinate to brush on the goose while grilling. It was real tasty . snowgoose
I tried Pistol Petes Recipe last week with a few modifications. Cut goose breast into strips. Roll in flour Dip in egg Roll in finally crushed cracker crumbs with pepper and season salt. Deep fried in butter flavored Crisco for 8 minutes at 350 degrees. Made sausage gravy to put on top of it. Was just like eating country fried steak. Great to eat, bad for the heart
fishinphilth
If you ask my wife there are many ways how my goose is cooked,(like buying new decoys and duck call),but I get the kids and my wife to eat them when I make goose tacos or fajitas. Also pheasant tacos are even better!!!
crapjeye
This one is awesome! Non-game eaters will ask for more. One goose. breast meat only. Remove skin, blood, tendons, etc. Dice breast meat into small cubes. Take five slabs of thick deli ham and add goose cubes and diced ham to bottom of a roasting pan. Take 5 strips of bacon and cut into thirds. Lay bacon over ham and goose. Throw a can of mushrooms on top. Take one can of cream of mushroom soup and 8 oz. or more of sour cream and mix together. Take that mixture and pour on top of goose, ham, bacon & mushrooms. Cover and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes remove cover and bake uncovered 10-15 minutes until desired thickness. Serve over egg or butter noodles. Fantastic!

mr marbles
Try cutting duck or goose breast i prefer duck but goose is ok also, into 4 inch strips ,season salt all pieces. cut a pound of bacon in half and roll up the pieces of breast meat with the bacon and can also put a small piece of onion or garlic or halepeno in the middle. put in a oven safe class cooking dish and cook in oven at 375 for 25-30 min don't over cook, if its still a little pink just let it sit in the dish on the counter for a few min. My kids cant even get enough.
norwall
I usually go w/the old standby, goose breast in crock pot w/a can of cream of mush, I do the same with pheasant too, other than that I'll pick the goose or duck, stuff it wit kraut, apple, veggies, onion or dressing etc. and throw it in the oven
dirtking
I grilled a full goose last weekend and it was the best ever. We took a plucked goose and filled the cavity with potatoes, carrots, celery, peppers, onions, and pineapple for a twist. Put on a charcoal grill with not much heat for 5 to 6 hours - also threw in a couple of chunks of oak next to the briquettes to smolder and add a smoky flavor. Turned out really good! waltinader
The best thing to do with geese is make goose jerkey with hickory seasoning.
