blazer vanes

I just bought 12 new arrows and refleched 5 with the blazer 2". The field tips shoot fine but my broadheads are all over the place,one shot good but the others shot high. same brand heads I've had good luck with Wasp sst. the only thing I changed was the vanes. I talked to a friend of mine and he has tried 4 different broadheads and one expanible and can't get a group out of any of them. I thought the blazers were for better broadhead control.

i shoot blazer vanes and have no problem at all. could be a spine issue

I have been shooting blazers all summer long...they seem to shoot about the same with my FPs and my BHs (Muzzy 3-blade 100grain). Could it be a spine issue with your arrows?

My buddy shoots blazers and he loves his. If i was you i would bring in the bow to the shop and have everything checked again, such as the draw, and make sure that your arrow rest is level. Just a suggestion bc i dont know what is actually wrong, i had new arrow fleches that shot all over and i figured out that my arrow rest was not level anymore. Just a theory.

Blazers work great for me. Softball size groups at 30 yards both field points and fixed blade heads (baseball size on a good day). But if you are having trouble there are a lot of places that could need to be checked. Starting off I would check for contact. What style of rest are you shooting? Blazers are taller than feathers or standard vanes so you could be contacting a rest, the arrow shelf or riser, a cable, or even the bottom of your sight. This contact may or may not show up shooting your field points because the field points do not have any steering effect on your arrows. It might only become evident of small contact when you shoot your broadheads. A good thing to try is putting lipstick on the vanes or foot powder on your arrow rest and shelf. If you see streeks anywhere there is your problem. Next I would paper tune and adjust accordingly. Try 6, 12, and 15 foot distances from the paper and make sure they are all shoot bullet holes. Download a tuning guide from Easton's HSOforum. That should tell you which way to move your rest and nocking point to fix your tear. Next if you are still having trouble I would think that you may have a spine issue with your arrows. Too weak of a spine or borderline weak can show up when you shoot broadheads and not with field points again because the broadhead has a steering effect on the arrow. If none of that has helped it's probably time to make sure your bow is truly in spec. It could be your cams are out of time or a bundle of things most of which really depend on what type of bow you are shooting. You can also change broadheads, broadhead weights, and change back to feathers or regular vanes and see what helps. It's kind of like a hide and seek game. Eventually you'll find out what's wrong and you'll have no more problems. Good luck.

i had the same problems with blazers earlier. if you shoot a bisquit i personally feel that the blazer is too tall for the bisquit, slowly pull the rear of the arrow throught the bisquit once and watch the blazers fold over maybe that happens to all vanes going through a bisquit. another thing make sure your bow is paper tuned!! (i shoot G5s) the air would grab the broadhead and send it all over. Another problem i had was that i was torquing the bow a little bit, that didnt help. after i got it paper tuned i havent had any problems i would try that.

This year has been a challenging one for me with my bow. I decided to try quickspins and blazers out from shooting feathers for several years now (hated it when they got wet). Love the blazers, but found that when I put my beloved muzzys on them, one would stray too far for my liking. I was able to try different broadheads out with my new arrows and someone had me try the shuttle T broadheads which I found to fly crazy straight! I bit the bullet and decided to try them out this year while putting the muzzys to rest for now It's hard to try different things when you are so used to using them for so many years - but it may be worth it! As far as the blazers go... shooting out of the whisker biskit which is also a new thing for me this year and love it. It will be of good use when I'm in Montana next week stalking elk!

I've been fletching with Blazers for 2years now and love them. I also just tried the 2" Quick spin hunters and they are awesome. Not quite as durable as the Blazers, but awesome flight.
