Kyle Lohse 2007 NL Cy Young world series MVP.

That's what I'm talkin about. grin.gif

Truthfully, the Reds are hoping for 25 decent innings down the stretch in middle relief. Who really knows if that's a reasonable expectation? It's not like he has to face AL hitters anymore. It looks like more than a fair deal to the Twins if the Reds are eating all Lohse's salary.

It was time for him to go anyways. Trade rumors always swirled around his name. He was good at best sometimes and horrible the rest of the times. The pitching prospect we got looks real decent and it gives the twins a chance to pull up Garza without Lohse whining about another guy coming in in front of him.

I don't know what to say about Lohse--- but the move from a starter/relief pitcher at the Major League level to a starter at the A Level simply tells me that the management is planning for the future and not foucusing on the current year. Yes- Lohse sucked this year, but a guy eating up innings in a blowout to the rangers is just as important to me than a guy pitching a inning or two in a close game agst the tigers/sox. Someone has got to pitch,, and tonight it was ,Neshak,Reyes ( are only lefty outta the BP) Etc,, pithers we need come stretch time. In my OP, Ryan is looking ahead to next year and years beyond.

I think you have to look ahead to next year. If our starters were a little more consistant then I would be a little more upset.

With Fransico on the DL we will have a tougher time. Were is Les Straker when you need him?

Is he on the DL I thought it was just missing one start becuase of minor swelling. They talked about it on the radio this morning and Liriano could go tonight if the game was more important. Since he is the young stud they are being extra cautious with him. It sounds like a minor issue to me.

Last nights line on Lohse

Lohse 1.0 4 1 1 0 1 0 7.10

Doesn't matter where he goes...4 hits in 1 inning.

It gets worse. He's getting the start for the Reds on Saturday. I've seen the last couple Twins-Ranger games. Are you telling me Lohse pitches worse than that? blush.gif

Not that Twins fans care, but Kyle is having a little easier time in the NL. That should shock nobody. He did in fact become a Reds starter.

IP 19.1 Hits 19 BB 2 SO 22 ERA 2.33

The strike out to walk ratio is outstanding. This is against the Cards and Braves for sure. I forgot to look and see if he has a record. Reds BP stinks. I think he mostly has no decisions, obviously not his fault. Hopefully he keeps his head clear.

Lohse pitched well yesterday and Scott Rolen was the man... How about Weaver his last two starts, I hope he can continue because after Mulder's last start in AAA he is no way near ready. Spinner this is good time for your Reds to gain ground on the Cards especially over the next three days because the Cards are at the Cubs and I am not looking forward to another sweep and the Cubs have been hot lately putting the beat down on the Stros at there place. I knoe Gene is licking his chops grin.gif

The reason he is pitching better is because he is now in the NL. I would love to see the kind of numbers Santana or Liriano could put up over there.

If the Twins were in the NL, they would be about 40 games over .500 right now. No offense to any of those teams over there, but there is a clear cut difference between leagues this year.

That said, I am pulling for the Reds to make the playoffs this year. I've always really liked Griffey and it would be nice to see a different team in for a change. Heck, half of their team is former Twins. grin.gif

I don't know what to think about Weaver. He owns the Reds though. That is not in question. I don't know who is going to back into the playoffs from the NL Central this year. The Reds nor the Cards have the pitching to survive postseason and it's just frustrating to watch. I spend a considerable amount of time following the Twins. smile.gif

Yes Willy, it's not hard to figure out whay our GM Wayne Krivsky likes Twins players. smile.gif A couple of them have done well in the NL. Amazing what new scenery can often do for a player.

Edmonds injury must be worse than it appears the Cards picked up Preston Wilson this morning from the Stros and he's starting against the Cubs in a couple minutes. Our league other than the Mets sucks period and even they don't have great pitching. Regardless whom come out of the NL for the series it will be another shellacking. AAA at best frown.gif

Wait until he has made the "tour" through all the NL teams and they have had a chance to key on his weaknesses, which are many. He will then proceed to get rocked like he did here for 5 miserable seasons...

Yep this weekend. Can you call Dusty and ask nicely if the boys will lay down this weekend. The Reds are doing a good job hanging 2 back while Houston starts to fade again...We play the Mets tonight on the road should be a good series we took 2 of 3 from them in St. Louis early... Possible AAA playoff excuse me National League Playoff preview... grin.gif
