What weight spinner baits?

I usually just go and pick out a bunch of spinner baits at gander and stuff, but I was placing an order online and really have no clue what weights I use. What do you guys usually use for spinner bait weight? (haha say that 5 times) ok, anyway. I was looking at like 3/8 oz...

Opinions?

I would say most of mine are 3/8th oz... I have a few heavier and quite a ew lighter as well... I figgure you can always put more weight one it(crimp on a bull shot) but its really hard to take weight off it.. LOL

bull shot? you mean a large split shot?

kinda, it works like a split shot, but is shaped like a worm sinker. It wont catch weeds like a normal crimp on sinker. Rubber core sinkers work well for adding weight to a spinnerbait as well.. matter of fact they probably work better, but I dont have any in the boat. i use the bull shot sinkers all the time so I have plenty.

most of mine are a 5/16oz.( strike king premiere) but i have them from 1/8 up to 1 oz.

3/8 is what i use alot. I think it is the best weight for a spinner bait because u can use them in shallow water and deep.

i have a 1/2 and a 1/4 i can cover alot with that

I throw a lot of 1/4 tandem willow blades with a few 3/8 when looking for northerns. If I am river fishing then I will throw 1/4 or 1/8 but still use big glup trailers.

Cool, thanks for the input. Deitz, great idea. I never thought about just adding weights if needed.

Something to remember about spinnerbaits is that the blade will effect how deep they run. A bigger blade can make the bait run shallower, thinner blades can make the bait run deeper.

1/2 ounce most of the time up here on the bay.. Sometimes bigger!!!
