On deck rod straps?

My many of you use those rod straps on your casting deck. Like the ones you see the pros have on those tournaments on t.v. They have velcro or elastic for easy access. Thinking about getting some. Are they worth it?

Thanks

I have 1 set on the deck that are the rubber bungee type.I have put up to 6 rods on one of them and they do not get tangled and I tow them down the road like that. They seem to work very well.

I also add the tackle pouches from Todays Tackle for the hook or lure and they also work flawlesly. You can buy them on this forum from Fishing Mn. smile.gif

I wouldn't be caught without them. Running hot on big water and big waves during tourneys I have seen the bottom of my Lakewood musky box above me while sitting in the drivers seat while the rods are safe and secure. For such a small price they could save you huge money in lost rods or damaged rods.

No more rods banging together or getting tangled up when taveling the roughest water and the keep the rods IN the boat.

one thing to remember, when installing them! have 2- 6 rods handy, so you can get the gap/spacing right to handle that number of rods. i had to redo mine, cause i had the spacing to close and when i tried it with two rods, there was no snuggness( is this a word??) on the straps, and the rods flopped around.
