electric razors

This is kind of a different topic but, my electric razor that I've had for about 15 years finally bit the dust. Any reccomendations on a new one?

wow, you got 15 years out of a eletric razor that is unreal what kind was it?. I would go and get the same brand.I seem to only get 5-6 years out of one.

I've had two electric razors. A sleeve of five "old school" blades lasted longer than both electrics combined.

It was a braun, so I'm inclined to get another one, but are they still being made well? how about the ones you can use in the shower, are those any good?

I know this is a wierd topic but who better than FMer's to know these things? It is a piece of "equipment" isn't it? And the good ones are like $200 +, more than we spend on some fishing equipment.

I don't use fancy electronics. Gillette Mach3 Turbo. Keeps the head and face smooth.

I use the Mach3 also. They are making a mint on the replacement blades though.

They can make them really sharp, and now they have the ones that buzz. Why don't they make them last longer than a few days?

There is someplace on the internet that cryo-treats the replacement blades that make them last much longer. I don't know what it is called but they talk about them on the KQ morning show.

another vote for Braun - I've had one for at least 15 years and it does just as good as a blade.
