RonZych
Where does everyone go to chase crawlers other then the bait shop? We go to gross golf course. Can get 100s in a short time. It's a good time especially for the kids.Ron

BDR
Chasing crawlers?? There kind of slow aren't they?
WalleyeChaser
The best thing to do is go out the morning after it rained because they crawl out of the ground so they don't drown. A whole lot easier than digging for them. Remember the early bird gets the worm. Wait to long and they will be gone. As we aren't the only ones that take advantage of this. Bigfife
I read this post at 9:15. Now it is 9:28. I walked out of my apartment and shined the flashlight down. I stood in one spot for 10 mins. and picked up about 2 dozen. I would have grabbed more, but I don't need them until next weekend.
DARK30
I got um thick out under the apple trees but I think I'll wait till morning to pick up a few. Last year I picked way more than a guy could use and the rest turned to gel after awhile. Does anyone remember those electric rods we used to polk into the ground to bring the crawlers up? I remember them working really good...what ever happened to those things? They did make for a great sword fight too
No_Net
Just got back in from picking about 10 dozen puts me at about 35 dozen for this year. I find them in spots where its not fertilized.
Seeker of Clayface
When I was a kid, we would drive a sawed off hockey stick into the ground and then whack the stick with another. After awhile the crawlers would pop up, due to the vibration. Anyone try this?
harvey lee
I just finished picking 20 dozen.Another rainfall and I will have plenty to go sturgeon fishing.
eyepatrol
My driveway and the street in the morning after a good rain, otherwise my parent's back yard at night. Always helps to have the yard freshly cut though.
fishin789
My yard has a bumper crop of crawlers. I picked about 6 dozen and didn't have to move more then 8ft
LoonASea
Dark30 I use those crawler shockers ....rumor is that they dont live long if they have been shocked so i only pick 3 dz or so at a time ...the best way i have to get crawlers is to pour chlorinated water on the ground ...since we have an above ground pool i have plenty to spare after a good rain it doesnt matter if its sunny or cloudy they shoot out of the ground when they get doused by chlorinated water Randoid
doser
Another good place to find them at night is under dead foilage like leaves or compost. I never buy crawlers. Always pick my own.
