IceHawk
The ducks and geese are here in full force. It has been a great time to observe and enjoy all species of ducks, numerous geese and a few swans.
Big Country
Hey Strat, do you hunt locally? I am just a few miles away from you and have found the hunting to be downright horrible. We are going to Canada for the 4th time this fall because the hunting around here stinks! Ever hit the river up near your parts? I hear it can be good, but have never tried it. strat-o-caster
We had a great opener up here! I usually open near Glenwood Mn which is my home town. I've had some good shoot's but few and far between. I usually take a week and go to No Dak ... let's talk Canada sometime.... Strat

Bushwacker
My pond opened up yesterday and there are already 50 + ducks using it. I went out this morning and it felt just like a nice fall duck hunting day. Crisp temp and ducks cruising overhead. Could be a long 6 months. jbell1981
We hunt in the same neck of the woods. I hunt near kensington, about 15-20 minute drive from Gleenwood. We ussually see plenty of ducks there on opening weekend.
outdoor ran
I can't hear the wing beats unless thay take my cap off. But I was down by the St. Louis harbour yesterday watching the return of many different kinds off ducks. Goldeneyes, buffles, mallards, fish ducks, widgeon, ringbills, bluebills and of course tons of geese. Man they sure look nice this time of year, wish they looked like that in the fall. Dean Schellinger
I hear ya Outdoor Ran! That is why I really enjoy hunting late season, beats those immature mallards and skimpy hen wood ducks anyday. Big fat northern birds usually have a little better plumage. Nothing like the spring though, I love getting out and just watching all the different species I never seem to see in the fall!
