Need bear guide suggestions

My nephew is planning a bear hunt this fall and asked me about guides, baiters and such. He wants to go opening week anywhere in northern MN. Any suggestions?

The guys that guide for bear have to be licensed by the DNR.I believe if you go to thier web site or call them they will give you a list of all guides and baiters.

Bear Down guide service in Duluth is a top notch business. Contact Rob at Fishermans corner. Very high harvest rate. Made the papers last year when a client climbed into a stand only to find a bear waiting there for him, you may have heard of the story. I highly reccomend them. BC

there are good guides and bad ones, i bear hunt in the talmoon area and its getting to be that a few of these guides think they own every approuch for miles, its getting not to be funbear baiting and hunting anymore. just pick a good sportsman type guide that respects other peoples areas. good luck.

Give Greg Garvick a call. Tell him Nate told you. Last year he went 12 for 13 on hunters. The only one not to get one last year shot and missed. I have used him for 4 years. Does a great job.

no pref points but your chances of geting drawn is very high

I know a guide area 51 thats great.350 bucks you'll shoot a bear.Last 2 years he was 100% even had a guy miss several times but got him a bear.You got to get a motel room or camp out

I'm sure he's booked the 1st week already.He takes some big bears that week.Last week is probly the best hunting less bugs less bears smarter bears few big bears left NO 1 HUNTING so you get the pick of the baits

All he does is bait and clear out where the stand goes.You bring and set up your own stands.He will bring you in the field on a baiting trip show ya the spot help ya set up and thats about it.You must contact him every outing and when you take a bear.Lots of guys take a bear 20 minutes after he leaves the bait.

If i'm not mistaken for 50 bucks more if he knows where a big bear is on another bait he will contact ya that day if no one else is hunting it move ya to it.Cheap hunt and you will probly get a good bear.Last year i know they took several bears 350-400lbs 1st week and 1 big boy the last week.Most bears inbetween that average 140lbs
