hahahaha! Reminds me once when a buddy of mine put a shine on his dirt bike and decided to top it off with an Armor All'd seat to make it nice and pretty. First time he cracked the throttle he was chasing the bike down the road. grin.gif

I had my new boat equipped with vinyl floors. The dealership handed me a warning sticker that says, "DO NOT apply Armor All or similar substances to this surface." Umm, I think I will heed that advice.

DON'T DO IT!!

Took my boat out for the first time of the year last night and learned a valuable lesson. It was like sitting on a Slip and Slide!!

Rost I can guarantee WE ALL did the same thing once....and somehow lived to tell to others..... grin.gif

Plain old water and soap it's best for vinyl, that's it.

I have used armor all on the floor mats of the truck...I wish I had seen this post a couple of years ago. Slipped backwards I think it still hurts (pride)

I have been told since, that if you use good ole foam shaving cream fromt the can, the results will be the same as armor all, without the slip... I decided not to use anything on the floor mats, besides the hose.

Legendelite and I had a grandfather who thought covering his kitchen lenoleum floor with Armor All was just good cleaning. After everyone of his 50+ grandchildren ended up on our backs from slipping on his floor did I determine that I most likely shouldn't put Armor All on my boat seats. I have to be truthful by saying is sure was funny watching another relative do the arm pin wheel motion and end up with their knees above their head while falling flat on their backs. I know it is sick, but funny. Just to add a little value to this post, if you want to bring back the vibrant color, even white, of your boat vynal, you can't beat the Magic Eraser. Inexpensive and works like a charm.

I would highly recommend that you guys don't put Armor All on anything!

Somewhere a number of years ago, I learned that it was extremely bad for the plastic in your vehicle. It makes it shine, but it also can wreck your dash over time and it will crack faster as well. I don't know if that has any truth to it but cleaning your dash with soap & water is probably the best thing for it, and then leave it alone.

Hanson,

I don't agree with you on this one. I've been using Armor All on all of my vehicles, recreation equipment and even some furniture for years and I've never noticed any deterioration on anything. It seems to me that if Armor All caused problems with cracking plastic they would have gone down in flames by now. It is a very reliable product as far as I'm concerned.

That was something I had heard awhile ago and am not sure about the truth behind it. You could be right though. I've just erred on the side of caution I guess, and used soap & water to clean my dash & plastic in my pickup.
