all hail our new champion... Luke Clausen winner of the bassmasters classic...re-writing the record books!

Congrats to him...

On a side note, not that I ever plan on being on that stage. I do not have the skills or the money to pursue those dreams. If I ever should happen to win the bassmasters classic, I give each and ever FishingMinnesota.com member permissions to slap me silly if I dont act even a little more excited than our boy Mr. Clausen. Not the best for T.V.....

WOW! To be 27 years old and the Classic champ. Congrats to Luke. I think he was a little schocked and it didn't quite sink in for him that he is the champ. Not very much emotion from a guy that just won 500k. I'm sure he will be doing flips once he gets home.

He looked at the guy directing the show with a blank stare on his face for 20 seconds before he raised the trophy. If that was me I be doing a dance that would kind of be a hybred between Skeet Reese and Ike. I can't breakdance or even do the "running man" very well, but definitely would be doing some sort of crappie flop up there. Besides winning the 500K and the boat, and all the additional money from sponsors, 40 years from now he will still be known as Classic Champ. Show some excitement man! grin.gif

My only complant over the Clasic weekend is that somebody, I dont care who, but somebody tell Shaw Grigsby to get a new haircut. Now IM no Brad Pitt, but come on that things terrible. It looks like one of thoose florida Muskrats crawled up on his head and died and he tried to comb it strait down.

"looked like a muskrat" now that's funny! I don't care who ya are.

Way to much focus on the commentators in BASS coverage. Let em talk while we watch somebody fish. Hours an hours of watching these guys sit behind a desk. In golf you watch the golfers and seldom see the commentators why not fishing? They have all these camara's out there, what a waste.

I like this guy flipping in his livin room. I caught several boxes and a weedeater flippin in the garage yesterday. I like to use the handles on the lawn mower to simulate cover to flip to. I'm gonna put the lawn mower and snowblower right together tomorrow, lay a couple brooms, posts, pipes and shovels across and really make a tangle.

I caught the weedeater on a jig, nothing yet on the crankbait with the lip broke off from banging it off my trolling motor last year. Don't you hate when you do that?

I'm sure the reason there is so much emphasis on the commentators is Byron Velvick. Because of his go on "The Bachelor", I'm sure they think more people will be attracted to watch it because of him. And I agree about Shaw, I thought that same thing(minus the muskrat) when I watched it.

Because of the weather on the second day, I bet the desk jocky's had to do a dog and pony show, as the cameras just could not be used for a couple of hours. It would have been hard on the camera men and the equipment.

BENTON, Ky. — Luke Clausen, 27, became the youngest professional bass anglers in history to surpass the $1 million mark in tournament winnings Sunday when he notched a victory at the $1.2 million Bassmaster Classic on Florida’s Lake Toho. The win comes just 18 months after Clausen won $500,000 at the $1.5 million Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship on Alabama’s Logan Martin Lake.
