Winchester

I should take out a loan and buy a bunch of the Winchesters before the factory closes. Was just at a gun show in Williston ND, and a guy had a complete line of Stainless Model 70 rifles there. What a sight to see. Had a healthy price. They all had stainless scopes on them. I thought all the prices on used were high there. The Oilfeild is booming so a lot of guys have a little spare cash to spend. CAJ

I don't think this will be the last one to do so. Take a look on what we have, as consumers, we demand low prices, but we want big wages as workers, guess what, the two don't mix!! You can't blame the big companies for moving, it's a decision based on big money, just like most everything is these days.

I have been shooting the SX2 for the past few years and love this gun. My son bought one last year. From what I understand Winchester will continue to make the SX2 overseas. I just hope the quality continues. Does anyone have any other info on the future of Winchester shotguns?

I heard this a while back also and it was on the news again tonight since it's just under a week away. I've always wanted a Winchester lever-action rifle. My dad has had one for years and always liked it.

If you were to buy a model 94 before they are gone, which one would be the one to get??? I really don't need a 30-30 for hunting purposes, but I'd buy one just to have it since they'll be gone soon....if they are even available anymore. The octagon barrel model always looks sharp too.

Other than that, a 9422 special edition traditional tribute has my eye also.

They only closed the plant in CT. They will be making their guns overseas now.

Will this make their gun cheaper for us now? I hope so, since the guns are being produce overseas, I always wanted to get me one of those model 94 in 30-30. smile.gif

The Model 94 will not be made overseas, or anywhere for that matter with the Winchester name on it...... It's possible that someone could buy the rights but it still won't be a "Winchester".

After 1964 Winchester tried making their products cheaper to keep up with competitors. One example is rather than machine the parts for the actions they decided to stamp them. Wood quality and fit tolerances were loosened as well to save time and money for production's sake.

Winchester is done gone forever. My friend said that Winchester said they are done for ever. They said to the public at the BIG gun show at the fair grounds that they are done. No more shotguns/rifles anything. I don't know about there Ammo. Thats what I heard.

Picked up an used 9422 yesterday that is in perfect shape. Serial number indicates that it's approximately 10-12 years old, but you could swear it just came out of the box. Very happy to have one as I've been wanting one for quite some time.

I did find a couple of the tributes but they had a hefty speculation price attached (about twice the price what they were before the Winchester announcement). Cabelas said they didn't raise the price and guys were buying 3 and 4 at a time. I didn't want one that bad to pay the inflated price. This one I can shoot and not feel guilty. grin.gif
