I know it's not fishing related, but did you happen to catch the final olympic snowboarding cross race last night. Seth Wescott won the gold by inches. It was one hell of a race. He over took his opponent in the last few seconds. Great race. Unbelievable news this morning that Lindsey Jacobellis lost the gold today by pulling a show-off stunt and falling. She was way in the lead and fell as a result of the stunt. There seems to be some contoversy whether she was showing off or not. Gotta watch tonight to see how it played out. Norway has the most metals so far , but the good old USA has the most gold, as it should be. Go USA wink.gif

That race was sweet! They were talking about how he likes to wait till the end to make his move and thats exactly what he did. I didn't see/hear anything about that other person losing due to showing off. I'll have to keep an eye out for more info on that this weekend.

that what the off-topic forum is for grin.gif

But the Olympic's are only every 4 years and normally there isn't much to hype up about the events ( come on, we are talking about snowboarding here wink.gif )!

That race was pretty sweet. Wescott waited until the right time to pass that guy and did it on one of the turns.....pretty sweet!

Didn't think watching snowboarding could be so interesting.

Seems to me that the olympics have been adding new sports for some time now. Snow boarding takes a lot of talent, practice and motivation to be as good as these young folks. Times and sports do change. Are we to lock-out any new future sports that come along? Just voiceing my opinion.

Personally I do not see it as an olympic sport. However now that they have it I spose I would watch if I turned it on at the right time. I did see in the news where the one snowboarder went from Gold to Silver just for "hotdogging". Bet he or she feels pretty stupid now! I know that I sure would. Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

I just got done watching the olympic coverage. the gold medal presentation to the USA female skier. I don't think any of the young kids know all the words to the national anthem. I have watch on and off and don't recall seeing anyone singing as it was played. Maybe the dudes that are hanging in the snow should learn the words man. OR maybe we should allow the pledge of alligence to be said in the schools!!! Sorry had to vent. I really do think it is terrible when U.S. citizens don't sing when the anthem is being played. OH I need to get out fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!

fishing tech, I know what you mean, the young kids, and many adult don't know the atheme. frown.gif What gets me is they have to wrap the us flag around themselves. I like the ski jumping. Flying down the hill, I know what the guys are saying and thinking. 1. I never should have taken that stupid bet. 2. OOh god, just don't let me crash. grin.gif

Hunter and duckslayer. Not to be a smart guy, but do you 2 think curling should be an olympic sport? Tried watching it the other night and O My God talk about boring. I would like to see a curler jump on a snow board and see how far they would get. I know any snowboarder,or my 76 year old parents could curl. As a matter of fact, haven't I seen a lot of shuffle boards at retirement communities minus the ice? laugh.gif Just fooling around guys, don't be offended. Kinda fun pokeing each others opinions grin.gif

Yeah I watched some of that to, though I have to admit that they threw/slid those rocks down the ice s with some pretty good accuracy. I don't know if it should be or not. I suppose the true Olympics from days of old were just track events. Would not doubt that skateboarding will get there some day either. I guess the times they are a changin'. I did not see much of them at all this year... do you think that the Olympics are a big of a draw as they were years ago? I don't know anyone that sat and watched a lot of them. No offense taken!

Fishing tech... I know what you mean about folks not knowing the words and having respect for the flag. I spent 20 years of my life in the Air Force defending that flag! [PoorWordUsage]es me of when people, not just kids either, can not stand and take their hat off when the flag passes. I have removed more than one persons hat when Old Glory passes and told them that when my flag passes they will show it some respect. OK, off the soap box now. Have a good one and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

It really [PoorWordUsage]es me off as well when someone will not remove there hat and stand proud when a flag is being raised or the anthem being played. mad.gif Hey slayer, bet you felt like knocking there hat off instead of removing it. smirk.gif It is simply put, total disrespect and I have seen it done by old and young. What a disgrace when we have young men and women giving there lives for our flag and country, and folks disrespect the flag. I'd better quit as my blood pressure is on the rise. mad.gif

Frankly, the first week of the olympics was exciting and fun to watch but for me 2 weeks of it gets to be too much.

    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
    • Chef boyardee pizza from the box!
