Have to agree with Chef. I can't imagine either parties would be very cordial while together. Put them in jail for being the criminals they are, no judicial slap on the wrist, and then put them to work for the community because it is all of us that ultimately pay for their indiscretions to put it politely.

Chef I agree with a lot of what you say. Probably more than we both realize.

The one thing I do know though is that a good role model for these guys at their age is only good when they are with them in most cases. I have seen this for the past 18 years in corrections. Im not saying beat these guys like a dog Im saying hold them firmly accountable within the laws and hope they learn their lesson from that. If they dont learn from jail time, fines and community service time a role model probably isnt going to instill what these guys parents either didnt or couldnt for whatever reasons.

Your right I dont have the time to be these guys role model. Ive done it every day at work for over 18 years. My spare time is spent away from those who choose to break the laws. Its the only way I keep sane. Ok fairly sane. wink.gif

Hello Everyone at Fishing Minnesota!

I would like to take a few minutes to THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of my heart for all the support you have shown my brother, Jon Fenner. Jon is having troubles getting on to the computer at home, but he wanted me to thank everyone, and he wanted me to let you know he will be posting soon. His friends took him fishing tonight!

I see you are all talking about these two yahoo's getting caught! I was so happy to hear they were turned in, this is all my family really wanted! I would really like to see them get jail time and pay something. I Guess we will have to see what happens. Hopefully other outdoorsmen and women who suffered a theft or vandalism will get justice along with Jon.

I want to let you know, Fishing Minesota made Jon's day when you took him to Cabellas. He called me on the way home and I could imagine the HUGE smile on his face. He said Rick was a wonderful guy and was excited to meet others from FM. We all can not beleive how many nice people there are in Minnesota, especially all the fishermen and ladies who came to Jon's aid. Jon is so greatful to all of you!!! We all are! We never imagined all this would have happened. I do have to say, in my opinion you could not have picked a more deserving person to help out. He always puts others before his needs, even after his health issuse began. It was so wonderful to see others looking out for him.

I could go on and on but I just wanted to make sure all of you know how much you have touched our hearts and changed our lives forever. Thank you again and I look forward to sharing fishing stories with all of you. Jon's email is [email protected] and I promise I will have him on the computer soon. (He needs a little assistance in this area!...LOL)

Heidi, welcome to FM!!! I have had the privilege of meeting a few of the folks that post on this WEB site. I am here to tell you that they have ALL been straight up guys and gals! I think that I can speak for all and say that you and Jon are most welcome for everything! I know that when I help out folks all that I ask is that when they come upon some one that needs some help, give them a hand and then I will be re-paid. I look forward to meeting Jon and you if you ever show up at one of the FM events. So far I have not been able to get too many but there is always hope. Thanks again for the kind words and I/we are all glad that things have took a turn for the better since the day that the house was torched. Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

Welcome to the board Heidi. There's a bunch of great folks here and it doesn't surprise me at all how they responded when they heard your brother's story.

Great to hear Jon's out fishing again!

Welcome to Fishing Minnesota Heidi B! Glad to see you and your brother with us. I'm looking forward you and Jons posts. I know nobody even questioned helping Jon out, sounds like he would do the same thing for anyone else that would need it in the drop of a hat.

I would also like to say....Welcome to Fishingminnesota! I am very happy to hear that they caught these "#*%!@$^'s". Just reading these posts, I know there's some bad people out there, but there's WAY more caring people out there to off-set them! What a great family of people, who most of em' don't even know each other, but they step up when it comes to a fellow fisherman/fisherwoman!

Later,

Hoggs

Northlander--thanks for your reply.

I see your opinions come from real-life experience with your career. You have a tough job. I can only imagine the frustration you deal with on a daily basis--you have my sincere respect.

I'd like the tone of this thread to remain as Heidi has turned it--a great testimony to our care for each other.

Have a great day!

    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
    • Chef boyardee pizza from the box!
    • Or he could go with leech~~~~~
    • Bear can relate too. Tell Leech to start a new account named Leech5, we'll know who he is.If he has any trouble, Bear can walk him through it.
    • Blessed Christmas to all.
