Ice transducer thru canoe hull?

I've got a Lowrance Ice Machine that I will be using in the summer as well. Has anyone tried using an ice transducer to shoot through a canoe hull (it's an aluminum canoe)? I've also got a skimmer transducer for it that I will rig up if need be, but I thought it would be easier if I could just use the ice 'ducer.

I have used a Vex ice 'ducer to shoot thru my aluminum hull. It worked fine.

Put a layer of silicon on the 'ducer, squish all the air bubbles out, and let set 24 hours B4 you turn on the flasher...

mine worked fine through my canoe hull with just a little bit of water. but mine is a composite, not aluminum.

I use an old fl-8 with ice ducer in my river beater. I just set the ice ducer into the back drain pan and it shoots thru no problem.

I believe Vexlar just released a shoot thru the hull transducer for aluminum hulls.

I ditto what Bobb-O said. My transducer has worked through any canoe I've used, but all of those have been composites.

Any suggestions on how to mount a transduce temporarily like in a rental canoe?

I wonder if grease or Vaseline would temporally work?

I was thinking along those lines, too. It sounds gross, but I'd bet something like KY jelly would work. It works for ultra-sounds, so I'm guessing it would work for sonar. Wonder if the KY warming would work better?
