I bought this Crestliner back in '88. Last year I put a new Yamaha 50 fourstroke on. Anyway, in '88 Crestliner offered a lifetime warrenty on their hulls (non-transferable). I guess they didn't think anyone would ever own a boat long enough to make a claim on the warrenty. I'll drive it 'till it splits the hull, then I figure I get a free boat.

Yeah, about that time they will say that it is for the "lifetime" of the boat and that expired just 2 months ago! Hope that it continues to serve you well. Mine is an "89 Lowe so it is almost as old. In fact the motor is an "89 Evinrude too. It has served well! Have a good one and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

Somethingfishy, that picture was taken up on Rainy Lake. My favorite lake to fish!

Duckslayer, I'm sure there is catch somewhere in that warrenty. It's not the real reason I still have the boat anyway. Fishing is fishing and the boat is still as solid as they come and with a nice deep hull it handles the ruff stuff pretty well, considering it's size. Up till last year I still had the orginal Merc70 on there, just wanted something easier on gas and something I could troll down with. I really like the new motor.

The picture was taken over by Dryweed Island in the Dove Bay area. My friends and me are creatures of habit and for the longest time we used to stay around blueberry island area. Anyway, we got stranded one year for an extra day when a big storm blew in. Now we stay a little closer to the launch. The site isn't an offical campsite but still has a toliet and nice tent sites. We've been staying there a few times a year for the past several years.

Hopefully I get my turkey next week, then I can get it up to Cass and put it on the lift next weekend!

Good Luck!

Just picked up the boat this morning and decided to endure the rain and let it out for a spin smile.gif

MattJohnsonCrestliner.jpg

2006 Crestliner 1750 FishHawk with a 115 4-stroke Mercury.

Gotta love the center rod-storage on the new Crestliner's (1750 and up). I can store 9 rods underneath the casting deck, a great feature in my opinion.

I also went with the MinnKota PowerDrive 80pd AutoPilot Universal Sonar on the bow. It moves well, no doubt about that. Maybe a little too well smile.gif

A lot of great features on the new Crestliners. Now only if the rain would let up so I can go back out and play grin.gif...

Just need to get you about 8 rod holders on that Matt and a couple Big Bertha anchors and you'll be cattin' in style! Wait a minute, you said you had room for 9 rods in the rod locker so make that 9 rod holders. grin.gif

Nice boat!

Matt, congrats on the new rig !!!!! What were you fishing out of before you got the new toy?

The 80lb up front will be more then enough my friend. I have a Lund Mr. Pike and less power up front but it does what I need on the local lake or Mille acs and Vermillion.

What I may add next year is a new 4 stroke kicker on the back to replace my trolling motor on the back.

Hey do you fish much locally during the week at all? I am usually done working by 3:30 and if I am not coaching my daughters sports I usually have a free night to chase panfish, bass, walleye, pike, musky....Just let me know

hanson,

You and your cats grin.gif I think a trip to the river is in order this summer...

Mr. Pike,

I'll be fishing in the Tonka Crappie Contest tomorrow and then I'll be gone down in the southern portion on MN for a couple weeks. I'll be back in the Metro for opener and then probably for a while after that. Shoot me an e-mail and we can figure something out...

Matt, Congrats on the boat. I have the same model, as seen in a few posts above. The windshield option and center rod storage are why I went with the 06'instead of 05'. I put a 65# AP on and that pulls the boat around no problem, that 80# is gonna fly grin.gif

The rod tubes say 6.5' but you can fit a 7' in there. I wish they were 8' though.

I am curious to see what kind of numbers you get after the break-in period. I was gonna go with the Merc, but decided on the E-tec.
