Fish CAN crap out a hook! Pics to prove it...

I posted this in the bass forum but thought this was interesting enough to post here too...

Check this out....some very interesting pics I saw on another fishing site.

It looks like the barb caught it on the way out but the guy said he was able to remove the hook easily and the fish swam away unharmed...I guess a fish can dump out a hook!

Yes they can! My brother caught a rock bass on the river that had a hook hanging out the back end and 2-3 inches of line still hanging out of it's mouth. He slowly pulled on the hook and we watched the line disappear into the fishes mouth and come out the back. There was probably 8-9 inches of line attached to that hook. I thought it was pretty crazy that that little fish was able to pass the hook & line through it's system. The fish seemed to swim away fine. - Vern

I was prefishing a tourney for smalles a few years ago, and managed to hook a 17 inch bass real deep. I cut the line with an inch or two leftover.

Guess what fish I caught in the tourney with the hook partially hanging out his bung, with the chunk of line still attached.

I swear on the bible!

I had a smallie a few years ago do that with a 1/8th oz. Fireball jig. A guy said it had broken him off a few days before.

I saw the same thing with a LM last year, passed a 1/8 oz yellow jig head! Had a sore spot where the final passing was taking place but otherwise swam off unharmed! I kept the jig!

Looks to me like that fish was snagged in the anus. The hook still has its luster.

Anyway, a few years ago on Steiger Lake I caught a largemouth with a hook sticking out of it's belly, the pointed end was sticking out. Evidently it passed the hook, but right through the stomach and out the skin rather than p00ping it out.

I pulled it out, and out it came with a leader too! Must've wreaked more havok on his gut than a platter of Buffalo Wild Wings with Blazin' sauce.

I got a lil pike on Tonka that passed a hook and leader. I helped the lil fella out and on his way he went. Prolly felt a lil more comfy to:)

Caught a big largemouth one night and thought that there was some weeds hanging off of her. It turned out to be a steel leader hanging out the exit. I gave it a little tug. It didn't budge. I figured someone's hook or rapala was in there somewhere.

caught a nice smallmouth in canada a few years ago, and a chartuesse jighead with hook was coming out its rear, with the hook still inside coming out point first?
