Here was a strange deal. It was on Secret Lake last summer (no, not a secret lake, the Secret Lake off the Fernberg outside Ely.)

The clouds were just above the trees, and their bottoms were between me and the tops of some of the trees, as you can see, and the rising sun was lighting the scene from underneath and behind those clouds. Looked like devil fire while I was sitting there.

Every one of the pics on this post were all taken with slide film on my Nikon F5, and a sigma lens (either a 170-500, or a 70-200 can't remember exactly) If you've seen the bird photos I've been posting--most of them were taken with a Nikon D70 and the same lenses. I have thousands of slides that I will be years scanning to digital files, but the D70 photos can just be uploaded quickly. I still use the film camera, but I love the digital format.
