Down to Earth
Quote:And no one is one the waiver wire ....Can you clarify this? You mean no body can pick up players now?For a 14 team league, I think you are pretty good. I can't believe R. Johnson dropped all the way for your second pick. Your starting RB are probably the best duo in the league. My suggestion would be to drop both a kicker and a defense. I'd be willing to bet even with a 14 team league, there will be an alternative you can pick up for the bye week. You need more depth at RB. What are some of the names out there on the waiver wire? Also I'm not really sold on Williamson as a fantasy player for this year. Long term I think he could star, but for this year I think you could do better. On the Gates trade if the Gonzo owner will trade straight up I would do it. Gonzo has been the proven commodity over the years and there is no reason he won't continue barring injury. Gates is still holding out over contract issues, can he repeat his outbreak year of last year, and also if Brees goes down he'll have Rivers at QB, plus defenses will more prepared to defend Gates.Just my .02 cents worth.Andy
Farley
Sounds like you have a case of the post draft panic. It's nice to have the 1-2 punch sometimes with a good QB and star reciever but since you have Tomlinson, you have almost half your team playing in the same game, so you may want to make a trade somewhere down the line but personally I would wait for one of your players, bench or starters that you can get rid of, to have a good game which ups their value. I guess if the guy will give you Gonzalez for Gates, it maybee a good trade but I have seen many guys get burned by making trades too early, myself included. dwag70
K. Warner (Ari - QB) T. Henry (Ten - RB) M. Cloud (NYG - RB) R. Grossman (Chi - QB) E. Manning (NYG - QB) T. Pinkston (Phi - WR) L. Gordon (Mia - RB) T. Dilfer Cle - QB) N. Davenport (GB - RB) D. Jolley (NYJ - TE) A. Becht (TB - TE) R. Curry (Oak - WR) F. Jones (Car - TE) A. Toomer (NYG - WR) This is the top of the waiver wire ... I just think with 3 guys on the same team that just will not work No we can pick up just there is none on the waiver wire .. 14 teams in the league things and pretty thin on there
Down to Earth
Drop a K, D, or Williamson ASAP and pick up Henry. I'll try and think of some other names that might be out there.Andy
ozzie
Ronald Curry of the Raiders might not be that bad of a pick up.. with moss and porter drawing alot of attention this kid has great hands and can find a way to get open....Not sure on Williamson also time will tell...but i agree why wouldn't you pick up a guy like T Henry alot of speculating if there starter is going to be healthy enough to play a full year and Henry is a solid 3rd string RB for fantasy....and definatly look to trade one of your SD players This will really hurt when it comes to bye week for SD and when there team doesn't score that is three players not putting up alot of points in a single week that can make or break a team and season!! Good luck sounds like a pretty good team for a 14 team league but in those leagues and in football paper is paper and the games are played on the field!!! Down to Earth
You might be able to better than Curry. Here's some info on him.Wide receiver Ronald Curry, recovering from a torn Achilles' tendon, will practice once a day, every other day, for the first week of training camp, According to the Contra Costa Times, he will be reevaluated after that first week of practice, but he has already been declared out for the first two exhibition games. OUR VIEWIt's not that surprising that Curry will take it slow to start training camp; there's little need to subject him to two-a-days and it's encouraging to hear that he's close to "full speed." However, if he is mixed into the first-team offense slowly, that doesn't bode well for a guy who is already fighting for looks with Randy Moss and Jerry Porter. sunnyj
Try to package a trade with Brees and Willamson to a Minnesota homer and steal his QB. Recivers will come along as the season goes just keep your eyes open.
pllwft
Shop for a different QB. Brees is nice, but somebody like K Collins may have about the same value and provide more fantasy points. If not, try improving WR's and gambling on a guy like J Harrington or E Manning. With Leftwich there, at least you'd have a bit more of a sure bet. Jarrod32
I was going to say that you should trade Brees because Leftwich will probably be just as good...If you can get Bulger for him, go for it. Bulger may command a lot in a trade down the road...maybe a good #3 RB and a good #2 WR for Bulger later.

buzzsaw
Quote: Should I try and trade Gates for Gonzalez TE KC If your in a keeper league you'd be insane to say this... if your not in a keeper league then you should just NOT even think about doing that move period. Gates may end up being the top TE in the game. Just my humble opinion.
Juan Grande
Dwag70,You're in good shape, especially for a 14 team league. You have two first round RBs including the best one in the game. Your WRs are a little weak, but Clayton is solid and Smith is okay. If you can't get Gonzo for Gates, you could always try to trade Gates for say Witten and another RB or WR. That would improve your depth and Witten could put up monster numbers this year. He had almost 90 catches last year which is unheard of from a TE. Bledsoe throws to his TEs a lot too. Either that or you could stand pat and wait to see what the free agent market looks like after the pre season or even week 1. I'd definitely make that deal for Bulger.
