What the heck do ya do to catch fish in 85 degree water. Fished a little local tourney yesterday and it was tough dang tough. Out of 14 boats only one boat brought in 5 fish and only 2 more brought in 3 fish. Any ideas on how to catch these warm water fish let me have it, cause it was a sloooooooooooooooow night. Any thing is helpful.

I concur with Dietz. I caught a 4 and a 4.5 yesterday afternoon/evening. There is a very small strike zone, and it has to be SLOOOOOOWWW and in cooler water.

Colder temps you say......85 degree's is cool?? I'm confused confused.gif

I would imagine deep water, well below the thermocline, the water would stay very cool no? Like 50's or less? Obviously our finders measure the temp at the surface. I measure 90+ water temp on Keller lake today!

I'll third that. Slow & slower, then slower still. The bass we've caught off cover lately, the cast has to land within a few inches of the dock/tree/slip, or nadda. Almost everything we're getting is on plastics. Did I mention we fished them slow? grin.gif

Tuesday on Lake Beebe the surface temp was 84. We caught 11 bass in between 2 and 6 feet of water. Half were on a weightless senko, and the other half on a carolina rig. Only one was smaller than 14.5". Only one came from a dock. We fished the weed line (5ft-6ft) and scattered clumps of weeds. The fish seemed to be holding to the bottom as it was probably a little cooler. Really had to soak the weightless worms.

How did you do? Did you fish Gervais at all? I was out with a friend on Gervais, we were in a 14' blue lund, johnson motor.

The water below the thermocline is significantly cooler, but I have heard that there are not many fish below the thermocline because of low oxygen and you have better luck fishing and the exact location of the thermocline. Not all lakes thermocline though.

I focused on keller only... attempted to focus on senkos and tubes in those thick weeds and the lilly pads on the south side. Caught only 2 bass. Wasn't as good as I thought it would be.. seems like it should be such a good bass lake with all the weeds and a few farily deep spots with few weeds.

I went out on Bass Lake in my canoe last night. I've had really good success out there up until about a week ago. Not a stinkin' bite. I fished in 1'-6' and tried some 10'-15' and then tried a couple dropoffs... We caught 2 northerns and a bullhead.

Blah!

Any size to the bass? I fished Keller a bit before going to Gervais with limited success, about a week and a half ago. I got several bass around 12" with weightless jerkbaits around the few docks on the west shorline.

Fishing is getting a bit tougher but you may want to give Gervais a bit of attention next time out.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
