JoeT
This sound great are you going to get any of the dealers, vendors in on this like in raffles or prizes etc, any time table as far as start time or ending times I'm sure a lot of us will be driving a distance.Joe T
Matt Johnson
As of right now we don't have any dealers or companies sponsoring the event, it's just a get together intended for all the ice fishing diehards to get a chance to meet up and share a few ideas (along with a lot of BSin I'm sure ). No prize give-a-ways, no raffles, it's free to attend and everyone is welcome. If anything changes or if anything new comes up I'll post the changes here. As far as a start time, I think 10am sounds good. Since we won't be fishing and we don't need to be on the water at sunrise, the 10am start time will allow enough time for those who want to make the drive in the morning instead of staying overnight. Those who are staying overnight can start earlier, there really isn't anything that needs to be said or done in order to start. And I'm sure this will go on for a good portion of the day and even into the evening. We'll fire up the BBQ in the evening and have a little cook-out too... So, who all plans on attending? tonyjor
I plan on attending but I wont be bringing my fishhouse. I plan on buying/building a new one this fall and this event would be great for getting ideas on exactly what I want. I also happen to work at a warehouse so if anyone needs cardboard slipsheets used on pallets, I'm the guy. I can bring as many as I can cram into my Jimmy, if there's going to be a need for them. Let me know, I figure I can bring at least 30-40. I would also like to point out that Two Rivers campground is a little farther up hwy 10 about a mile down the halfway crossing road. They have a pretty good campground and river tubing, in case anyone wants to get wet for a couple hours if it's warm out. I think camping is around $30 a night, but that was word of mouth from a coworker that stayed there this holiday weekend. It could be cheaper during less popular camping times. Matt Johnson
Tony, Thanks for the help and info on the other campground. I'm sure when the weekend is done you'll have a nice little list on modifications for your new fish house I'm looking forward to meeting all of you. Dennis Steele
This sounds like a lot of fun. I would love to see what some guys have done with their shaks and I hope a bunch drag them out of storage and show off thier modifications. It will give me some good ideas for my shak.We could also do a litle pot luck type lunch or dinner.I'll be bringing my fryer and some fish to fry up. If I missed anyone or if you're on the list and you can't make it let me know, and if you're not on the list you are still invited, this is only a list intended to show who is interested and so I can track down a few projected numbers. Kylersk
nytelyter, I've been to the appliance store a few times, looking for parts and such. Why'd they close? Big Chains?Anyways, I've been in St. Boni since 97 and last winter spent quite a bit of time on Waconia. So, I expect I'll be out there just as much this winter. nytelyter
yup big chain stores, but more so the fact that you can now walk into a LUMBERYARD and buy a washer. mom and dad got tired of working so hard for so little and they are both 67 this year. THE PLUS is that he and i can now go on fishing trips together. i hope to see you out on waconia and also hope for a better year than the last two as far as slot walleyes but the main reason i am out there is to be there the fish are abonus drop me an e-mail and we can talk about it [email protected]
Eric Wettschreck
Love to go Matt, but that weekend I've got tickets for the WoO Nationals in Cedar Lake. woodyjdh
At present time, providing nothing comes up between now and then...my 10 yr old son and I do plan on attending. Just so I have this straight...is there anything one needs to bring?
Matt Johnson
All you really need is camping equipment (if you choose to camp at one of the campsites), food, portable fish house (if you plan to make any modifications) and that should be about it. If you plan on just attending the day of the get together then you don't need to worry about a whole lot other than food and maybe a notebook to write down a few plans for modifying your portable when you get back home You don't have to bring a portable to attend, heck, you don't even have to own a portable to attend This is intended as just a get together for ice fishing anglers during the summer. A chance for people to meet someone new and talk a little fishing and have a good time. I always enjoy meeting new FMers and it's always nice to put a face with a few of the names. It would be very cool to see parents bring their kids to the get together. I'd even be willing to give an ice fishing seminar during the get together as well, if there's an interest for it? I'll bring my gear and we can go through some different techniques and strategies for out on the ice... Good Fishin, Matt Johnson

Matt Johnson
I'll try and take as many pictures as possible.
