Mn state record smalli???

A friend just called me to say that a new record smallie was caught this week on Mille Lacs.......Suppossedly 9lb 9 oz.......????????????????

Haven't heard anything about this yet. If thats the case it would be one heck of a catch. I'll keep looking around though if its true its bound to be somewhere

It wouldn't surprise me. I hope the guy/gal did his/her homework on who pays the most for record fish. I can see the endorsement deals now! (it was probably caught on a leech!) LOL

I have my doubts about this, It seems I hear stuff like this every week. One day its the musky record the next its walleye. Plus, a 9lb. 9oz smallie would blow away the current smallmouth record, heck it even smashes the largemouth record.

I have a tendency to think BUNK as well.......A 9-9 seems close to impossible in our northern climate, plus , I seem to remember a similiar claim a year or so ago, also on Mille Lacs.....Those sneaky yarn spinners.....LOL

There is no way, it would have been all over the news by now. There aren't any fish in there now with that weight cause their all spawned out. This web site is responcible for starting many rumors that are total talk!

Hey people......I in no way meant to start a rumor , as it seemed bogus to me just on face value....I talked at lenght to my friend and he was totally convinced, even going so far as to say that the man that caught this fish was getting it verified with the DNR , etc...............Just thought I'd bounce it of y'all.
