LovenLifeGuy
I was out yesterday in the rain and my screens are smeared from me cleaning the water off with a rag. Anyone know what to use to get the lcd screens clean without damaging the unit? The units are both lowrance lms 320's. ThanksLovenLifeGuy

0 LovenLifeGuy
Thanks for the response! If I would have known that I would have poured a little beer on them yesterday Thanks LovenLifeGuy
0 rangr
Do not use anything with alcohol in it. Over time it will cloud and crack plastic, assuming the screen is plastic. Warm water with a little dish soap should clean your screen fine.
0 Ralph Wiggum
I agree. I'd keep alcohols away from plastics. It'd work fine on glass, but organic solvents will destroy some plastics.
0 Fisherman For a Lifetime
I've used Windex for the last 3 years with no problems. Stay away from Simple Green on that !!!!!

0 Deitz Dittrich
Has anybody ever thought about using a Rain X type product? I'm not sure if that type product is designed to work.. I am deffinatly not telling anybody to try it as I do not want to be responsible for someone hurting thier depth finder... but it would make sence to me.. it works wonders on windshields? 0 Ralph Wiggum
It says to avoid use on plastics on the Rain-X bottle, so I'd be very careful.

0 minneman
also any light scratches that you get from dust/dirty rags etc. can be easily buffed out with meguires mirror glaze #17 clear plastic cleaner, worked wonders on the flaked screen on my lms 350a a while back, also fixes scratched cds, sunglasses, etc.

Soft cloth is important. The new lowrances now are being packaged with these soft cloths for situations like yours. You can pick up any ole soft cloth and a wal-mart, target, etc.
