Scenic Tackle Pro Series & Premium Jigs

Recommended Posts

I just recieved my order of Scenic Tackle ProSeries Jigs. A few things I noticed right away. The hooks matches the jig color, so it will not be as neccisary to try and cover the hook as it is part of the attractor. The hook also looked like it had a larger bite than most jigs for the size. Which to me means more hook ups.

I can not wait for more open water, I am going to put these to the test, I may bust out my fly tieing stuff and tie a little feather on the smaller size and put a hurting on the early season panfish.

You can get the Scenic Tackle ProSeries jig at TackleCity.com

I would strongly second DD's recommendation on the Scenic Tackle line of Pro Jigs as I have been using them for a while now and they hook and hold fish.

Success breads confidence, and I got a heap of confidence in this line of jigs.

A quality and economic product line that I do use and can easily recommend to my clients without reservation.

Jeff takes a lot of pride in Scenic Tackle and makes an AWESOME product. The durability of his jigs and spoons in unreal. Up here in Northern Minnesota we fish a lot of rock and sand Bars/Bottoms and after a day of fishing, the Scenic Tackle products are still holding up. I can put a jig back into the tray, after catching fish with it and it will look brand new (except for the teeth marks grin.gif), no paint chips or flakes...

Just wanted to add that I've had the same Angel Eye spoon on my #1 walleye rod all winter. That baby caught many, many walleyes for me on Lake of the Woods. Saying it's my "go to" lure is an understatement.

I would have to agree with everything mentioned above. The new Pro Series line of jigs are something to be admired. Excellent paint quality and the durability looks to withstand a lot of abuse. I'm anxious for when the time comes to be pitching jigs over the rocks for walleyes!

A great product for the jig angler to have in their arsenal, no matter the species.

For those wondering, here's what happened to the paint on a Scenic Tackle Go Devil that I tied onto some line and smacked on my landscape rocks quite a few times......

Now, I want Scenic Tackle to paint my truck so the kids can't knick it with their handlebars so much tongue.gif

I'll vouch for the paint quality on Scenic's stuff too.

I have a bunch of Angel Eyes in my winter box. I use them all, and they have been bounced off a lot of rocks on a lot of different lakes. They flat out catch fish.

I like to run and gun in my portable, and tackle in my box can take a beating from all the bouncing around in my tub. Some of my Angel Eyes just finished their third season. I am guessing that that equates to at least 400 miles bouncing across the NW Angle, Sabaskong Bay, Crow Lake, and Ottertail, and the paint still looks great and glows strong.

Great stuff for sure.

I think by now everybody knows how I feel about these Pro Series jigs!!! I am Pro Staff for another tackle company, but I have to give credit where credit is due!!! The paint is some of the brightest I've seen, and it stands up to SEVERE abuse. (just try hitting one with a hammer) Couple this with the new COLORED VMX hooks and it makes for a great addition to your box!!!

Like everyone said, very nice jigs with quality hooks and paint. At under 40 cents a piece they're inexpensive too, just like the rest of the Scenic Tackle line of products.

Now that you have those jigs what are you going to do with them.

Throwing jigs is my favorite go to pattern for Eyes. I guess thats because its the right tool for the job. I can't think of a better way to ferret out those structure holding Marble Eyes.

One typical scenario this opener for me will be concentrating on eyes moving from deep to a shallow water reef in the evening. Not a mid lake reef, leave that for later on this summer. Look for the kind or structure thats connected. Not all but a lot of early Eye movements will have some connection to shorelines.

Throw in a good break with warm water piling on it and you have a good place to start out. Get there well before the dinner bell and get a feel for the area you plan to fish.

By now you have a good idea of the depths in your casting range and you've positioned your boat to be able to reach all of that break. I'll anchor in 25' of water and cast jigs into say 3'.

When that sun starts to dip the eyes will start their move and your committed to that spot. You don't reposition the boat and you don't pull up anchor to retrieve snagged jigs. A stationary boat won't spook eyes and in fact it'll attract them. One more reason to stay still is because you will without a doubt have eyes following your jig to the boat and not hit.

Which I can't stress enough is to jig all the way to the boat and stay in contact with the bottom the whole way. To do so is a bit awkward when being anchored in deep water but it can be done just slow your retrieve accordingly.

Start out by throwing into the deep water and gradually into the shallows. Right now your searching as to where and what depth those eyes are moving in from. Don't forget about those eyes under your boat and give them the One Two Punch by vertical jigging a Go Devil on a rod prerigged.

Charge up the glow and jig that just like you would under the ice. If theres eyes down there your going to know within a minute so don't waste too much time there, your going to be wanting to throw those jigs for more eyes coming in.

I picked up a pack of the new Scenic Tackle Jigs last week, Here is my report! Spent yesterday evening fishing the St Croix by my house in waders with a buddy. I was throwing Scenic Tackle Jigs and my buddy was throwing jigs from a well known tackle company. First thing we both noticed is that my jig did not chip when it hit rocks, other one did, Second thing we noticed was I was hooking far more of my bites than he was, my jig stayed razor sharp, his didnt, and neither of us thought to bring a hook sharpener. Third thing we noticed was that I got more bites, almost twice as many!! I told him it was my "Superior" fishing skill. He wasn't convinced. We both had the same color and size jig, the same color ring worm, Only difference we could see was that mine had a red hook. You tell me was it my "Superior" fishing skill? Or, was it the red hook? Enquiring Minds want to know! If you want to out fish your buddys this weekend, These Scenic jigs are worth checking out!

They are doing somthing right.. I drag these jigs up and down the river here and rocks are not an option.. and they still come back like new... Now if I could just get them to all come back to the boat... I have even on occasion over casted and hit the cement wall and big rocks and skip them into back into the water but they hold up pretty darn good. Atta-boy Jeff.
