lawdog
I just saw a story posted saying Favre is coming back for another year. With no line he must have some sort of death wish or something... Oh well, as long as he keeps serving up five interception games to us he can play as long as he wants!!!!!!
Eric Wettschreck
I'm a Vikings fan. Don't bleed purple, but I'm a fan. One of the biggest reasons I just plain can't stand the pack is because I'm a Vikings fan. Hey, a guys gotta make a stand, eh? Having said that, I'm not going to take away the fact that Favre was a good QB. Notice, I said was, not is. They haven't done anything to beef up the O-line and Favre is gettin older every day. He would be much better off sittin round eating cheese curds, eating brats, and drinking Old Milwaukee beer than playing in the NFC North. He's gonna get hit, a lot. It's good for the Vikings that Favre is such a glutton. Our new secondary can buff up their INT stats and our new D-line can do the same for sacks and forced fumbles. Looking forward to the season. Could you please clarify as to what a good qb is? Cause if Favre is not a good qb, then I'm not too sure who is.
MJR
I think Farve will be fine, I don't think he will put up as good of #'s as he did last year unless the pack can do something with the line and establish the pretty good run attack like they had last year. They also cut Sharper. lawdog
He said not "great" anymore. "Great" QB's don't throw away playoff games the way hillbilly hick has two years in a row. What's he got 9 or 10 interceptions in his last two playoff starts???
cisco kid
The pack will lose bubba and sharper yet also. farve is a gammer but what is he thinking? hang er up now bret, you got nothing to prove! GO VIKES!!!
Down to Earth
Lawdog,Actually if you go back and actually re-read the post he does use "good" not "great". If he had used great it wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but to say he isn't good I just don't understand the reasoning behind that. I don't think you can isolate a handful of games from the past few years in making that statement, especially when you look at the stats overall. I know its easy to use his most recent playoff losses as examples, but look at Peyton Manning. His playoff history is pretty bad as well in his losses. Are you saying Manning isn't a good QB? barebackjack
Maybe he is coming back for another year to try to redeem himself kickin the pants off of the vikings, at least thats what Im hopin to see. Who knows, maybe they will get a lil somethin going with our O and he will have another good year like years past, I cant blame a QB of that caliber for not wanting to end his career on that note(playoff game, im sure you all remember it), can you? GullGuide
Problem being there are worse ways to end your career than the way he ended last season.I'd hate to see Farvra carted off the field after suffering his 12th concussion in a 4 week span....and without an O line, that's what's going to happen. Down to Earth
I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't think the Packers will be as bad off on the O-Line as people think. They have a pretty good O-Line coach and lets not forget they still have Tauscher and Clifton. I think they will be able to put together a pretty decent line for next year. The thing that worries me most for next year again is the Defense. Though with the new coordinator they brought in from Miami, may be they will be a bit better. Actually I'm not sure if it could get much worse than last year.
Eric Wettschreck
Down to Earth, sorry...my bad. Yes, I said good. I guess what I meant to say is something along the line of not nearly as good as he used to be, or great, or totally awesome, or near the caliber he once was, etc.I also said I didn't want to take anything away from him. Yes, he was good, he was very good. Goin downhill fast, however, IMO.

james_walleye
Favre didnt look so good in the biggest of the 3 games played last season though.
barebackjack
Ill have to add this little tidbit I havent seen mentioned. Brett Favre offered a hit on his salary to increase GB's cap for this next year, sounds like a true team player to me.
fishyguy
As a Vikings fan I would have rather faced Nall than Farve. As a football fan I am always happy to see one of the greats stay around as long as they can play at a high level. I just hope there is enough left around on the o-line to let him go out with a season to be proud of.All that said I like the Vikes chances agaist Farve this year, regardless of last years wins, with one of those wins being aided by a very generous call on a fumble recovery.
