The Pack

You haven't heard much out of packerland this offseason that has been good. What is going on over there? Farve coming back? You havn't thougth of any clever things to say about our coach selling Super Bowl Tickets?

I think the pack may need new ownership.

It is hard to keep an O line when they are close to free agency and everybody else wants them.

As for saying anything bad about Tice and the Vikings. We realize that we don't have to. They take care of all their own personal bashing and "black eyes" to the organization by themselves.

Why get out of the chair to get a beer when they are already bringing them to you by the case.

Unfortunately the Pack aren't in a good situation cap wise. It would be nice if we had an extra 20million to spend like the Vikes. Pretty much just the cycle of things in the NFL. I'm not too quick to write them off, especially with the way pariety works in the NFL, but I do like what the rest of the division has done in the off season. SHould be a pretty competitive North division next year.

Has Favre said if he's going to stick around or retire??? With the signings the Vikings have made the last couple weeks it may be in the best interest of Favre's health to pack em up.

If he sticks around he's going to get hit so much he'll be back on the Vicodin for sure.

Yep, the cycle is in the Vikes favor and I think we will enjoy this upturn. Unfortunately, if anyone can screw up this swing of the cycle it is our beloved Purple but I do like their position to get things done.

Congratulations on a brand new insult on the Pack. Favre and Vicodin, haven't heard that one before. Next one will be a Chmura comment, then an ignorance comment, a sexual assault charge on a coach, and maybe throw in how you beat us in playoffs. All brand spanking new burns on the Pack. Good Work. I look forward to some more Creativity.

This from the guys who keep bringing up ANCIENT Super Bowl Ring comments! laugh.giflaugh.gif

Yeah Nolte, we all know the Pack fans comments on the Vikes are always original. If we all waited for each other to come up with something original there would not be much banter from either side. The vicodin is still more recent and more fresh than your Super Bowls rubs that you guys rely on so heavily.

Hey thanks lawdog, I was just about to say that. Did we need to join in on the talk, I kinda just thought you queens fans could comandeer the whole post as you do such a good job at it. Ill back up what the other GB fan said, Why add insult to incapability, oops, meant injury. tongue.gif

Fellas

I was simply stating that you always rip on Pack fans for bringing up old stuff and then you go ahead and bring up ancient news. It's kind of a double standard don't you think. It really doesn't bother me one way or the other. I just find it funny when you say we always bring up the trump card of a super bowls and then spew something about Favre and Vicodin in the same sentence. Since they took place in a relatively short time period.

On other news, our off season transactions are nonexistent and you are definately picking up some good players. It will be interesting to see how it all turn out this next year. But just a reminder, that won't even get started for another 5 months so hold your enthusiasm till then.

Good point about curbing the enthusiasm, look at the past few years when the Redskins went out and signed even more big name players and it got them squat! I am a huge Vikes fan.... but I'm cautiously optimistic about the changes taking place. I hate to say it but I believe Detroit will be the Vikes toughest competition in the division for the next few years... they have had some good free agent pick ups the past few years and a good draft! Minnesota has done OK in both of those areas and GB has salary cap problems working against them... and of course the Bears are the Bears.

On a side note, I enjoy the banter with all of you guys so lets not get too upset with the fun jabs we toss back and forth, it's all in fun.

Buzzsaw,

You better hope BACK HER UP doesn't read this post. I think he already has the Lions in the Super Bowl next year. I do agree with you on the Vikes and Lions as being the teams to beat in the next couple years. My Packers will have a difficult time maintaining their "dominance" in the NFC North. Cap problems will probably lead to Darren Sharper being released by the end of the week. Bubba Franks also appears to be on the way out as well. I know the Bears are always the Bears, but I think Lovie Smith will get them going in the right direction. SHould be a very competitive NFC North the next few years. Isn't parity great??

On a side note, did you guys have your baby yet? Sorry you couldn't make it to the Backwate Brawl a few weeks ago, we had a great time.

Down to earth, Thanks for asking and yes we had a little girl (Caitlin) o go with our two year old son (Ryan)... it's a true nuclear family now I guess. She is one week old today and all is well. Iwanted to go to the backwater brawl and talk with all the guys, I guess it will end up being another day. As far as Back Her Up goes.... he has reason to be optimistic, however I think he's just a bit too optimistic. Do you ever fish metro lakes??

I agree with Buzz. The Lions will be our main competition this year.

The Vikes defense will be greatly improved with the addition of Smoot, Pat Williams, Napoleon Harris, and putting Brian Williams at nickel and Kenny Irvin at free safety. A big key will be what we do with the 7th pick in the draft.

Yes the Redskins signed big players and did nothing. But the Redskins did have a great defense. They just had a pathetic offense. If we can get another top flight receiver via the draft, trade or free agency, I think we will be the team to beat. (Ok, I'm a homer.....I know it).

With the defensive signings i think things are definately setting up for Mike Williams too be in purple next year. So far things have gone as i had hoped. The vikings are bringing in some good expierienced and talented (not over the hill) defensive players. Im still crossing my fingers hoping Ed Hartwell comes our way but we'll see. I also say if you can get Darius for the 18th overall pick its worth it. Dont drop the 7th pick for him though for gods sake. Big difference in the quality of player available in those 2 picks.
