While I do not have an F150 yet, I have one ordered for a Ranger 1850. After a lot of research and discussions with various Pro's and Ranger reps it was clear that this was easily the best motor in the 150 class.

Buzzsaw, I'd go for it. I have a Yam 175 HPDI but I have friends that have the Yam 4 stroke in 115 and 150 and they love them and as far as I know haven't had any problems. I'm not a mechanical guy and compared to other motors I've owned, this is the best I've had. The 4 strokes are nearly silent also.

I don't know about the F150, but I have a 1999 F100, the first they were sold. It's been a solid motor for me and very, very easy on gas compared to the old 2-strokes. I did have to have both fuel pumps replaced since they leaked, but this was under warranty. A couple of friends have Yammies, F50 and F80, and they like them except it doesn't keep you from hitting rocks any better than other motors.

I am in the market for a boat and i cant decide between the 4 or 2 stroke. It will be in the 140-150 hp range on a Lund Mr. Pike. One dealer likes a 2 stroke better and the other a 4 stroke. I know the weight and the hole shot are better with a 2 stroke but what about fuel economy? I hear there almost the same with the new 2 strokes? Thanks for any help!
