cluelessfisherman
Leave LOW early on Sunday to head to Red??? Man you guys are crazy - 10+ lb eelpouts, or 2 lb crappies... hmm... Seriously though, I'm going to fish Red on the way up Friday (if anyone wants to tag along, you are welcome), and then stay out on LOW in the evening and probably into the night Sunday for the pouters... - those dang Nebraskans think they want to catch a load of those slimy things.. Man - I can't believe how many FM'ers are coming up for this!! Lets see how many we can get!! Jeff - nice turnout for our 3rd annual Scenic Tackle late ice fishing weekend eh? Can't wait - only a month away!!

Paul Waldowski
A friendly reminder to all of you that have them. Please remember to pack your FSR Radios. It will be a big help in keeping track of everyone and helping put people on fish
Northlander
Great idea Paul. I will have enough for myself, Cheffrey and BD110. LP1 see if you can get a set of 5 miler Motorolas. Should be about $39 or $49 with a charging base.If not Cheffrey and I will probably be in the same house and then we will have a extra.

we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted February 21, 2005 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted February 21, 2005 Jeff, how should we handle food on the lake and for the Saturday night cook-out you have planned? What are you bringing and what should we bring? Being as you started this gathering by working out the Rambler Motel deal and Clueless tells us it's the Scenic 3rd Annual maybe we should call it the Rainy Scenic Gathering? If we do that, does that mean we have to use Scenic Tackle? If yes, then is it safe to assume you will make sure we're all outfitted with your good stuff? BD110
HoleHopper, Your just looking for a little pocket sized two-way radio that you can find at any sporting goods store. Of course you are going to need the best one they make. Run that by Mrs. HoleHopper I'll see you at the get-together. Take care, Tom (BD110)
Northlander
I recomend getting a set of 2 Motorola 5 miles with sub channels. I havent had good luck with the other brands. Office Max and Best Buy usually have the best prices. Check your local Ganders I got a set of 2 with charger for $30 a month or so ago in Duluth. buzbunni
The FishinLogician and I have 3 between us, so (depending on whether I feel like fishing with him...or not ) we'll have 1 or 2 extra units. Is it March 18th yet? Geez!
hip_hop_fisherman
I also have two of the motorolas. This event can't get here soon enough! At least its up to LOW tomorrow, that'll kill some time
Scenic
Rick,Well now where to start....... On the lake unless someone has some ideas I think it is everyone for them selves as I feel many will be scattered out. I am not sure what time I am going to be there on Friday so for me it is probably going to be hotdogs roasted over a sunflower. I am fishing during the day just like everyone else. On Friday night maybe just keep it light or maybe head for a restaurant since some people will be just getting there. Or maybe make Walleye sandwiches. I am bringing my fryers and would be willing to fry up some fish. On Sat. night back at the motel we will have at least one grill there already. We may need another grill or two if people want some grilled food. I am working on a very large one and will let you know if that comes about. It would be nice to make the rest a “pot luck” type of event on Saturday night. Plan on eating late so we can fish until dark. What does everyone else want to do in regards to food??We can call this the Rainy Scenic Gathering. As to using Scenic Tackle... I want people to use what ever they have to catch fish. Now we know what works best but the choice is still theirs. I am bringing the ole blue tackle box I mean the ole blue fishing truck and I always have a pretty good selection of product in there. We are going up there to have fun and catch fish. If the fish don’t bite...yah right...we are still going to have fun!!!
Deitz Dittrich
Jeff, I cant wait man! My father is comming with me and he is a very avid ice angler.. but always for crappie and sunfish. In his 50+ years of ice fishing he has only caught 1 walleye threw the ice. I will be bringing all my Scenic Tackle lures I have to give him the best oppertunity to catch many more walleye to add to his one that he caught about 20 years ago! Scenic
Deitz,That is great to hear he is coming up too. Between Rainy and LOW this should be the trip to change his walleye numbers. I am getting pumped too.
Deitz Dittrich
Jeff-Can you think of anything els I should get before this date... Remember I bought that care pack of AngleEyes, AnglelEye JR's, Go Devils in both 1/4 and 1/8.. Jig a bits, and RockN Roll jigs I think you called them.. if not please correct me if I am wrong... Can you think of anything else I would need besides bait, to give my father the best chance to put a few fish on the ice?Deitz

fisherking01
Anyone looking for a tag or to tag? I am having problems getting anyone to commit to coming up for the get together. As for me, I'd say I'm in, but don't want to get there and spend three or four days bunking and fishing alone. My wife said go ahead and go, but she isn't going with, kids are busy with school and whatever. Any ideas?
Chad711
I will be there , looking forward to it!
Paul Waldowski
fisherking, You may be bunking alone and with this motley crew I think you would prefer it that way . But you definately will not be fishing alone. If no one will committ to going with you, come anyway. You can fish with our group
greggles
I have a couple of radios but they are cobra, should still work right? about friday, we are arriving late Thursday night around midnight or so, are we having breakfast somewhere to discuss the plan for the day? I have a room at the northern lights and have never been to rainy so I would really like so help by the veterans. as for food I am bringing a small tabletop grill and deer steaks for on the lake, you can never have enough food along. Paul Waldowski
greggles, Sounds like you will be getting in about the same time that we are. Breakfast Friday sounds good. Probably fairly early though. Call the Rambler and ask for Rick's room. The phone will be answered 24/
