Willy
Hi everyone, I just caught a hog last night and let her loose. If anyone has any pics of replica mounts or suggestions could you please post them here. Thanks
Norsk Fisker
Congratulations! The only replica I have experience with is one we had made a year ago at Fibertech. We had the length and a photo to work from and they were able to match it. I would sure do it again even though it was spendy. The base price was $11 a foot plus shipping, etc. We had many compliments on the appearance plus it comes with a lifetime warranty. I can try to get a photo if you want one sent to you. LEECH21
I have seen some awesome replicas done by the people at Artistic Anglers out of Duluth. They also charge 11 dollars an inch. A FM'er named Outdoor Ran works for them. He could probably give you tons of info. Their mounts are truly lifelike. Can you guys please post pics of the mounts on the site. I would like to see and compare also. Thanks
Mark Christianson
I recently joined on as a rep for Fibertech, and for a couple reasons. The service and quality are both 5 star. Artistic Anglers has the quality, but the service IMO is non-existent. Sad but true. Service is a key element to having satisfied customers. Moose-Hunter
VERY NICE WORK!!! Looks better than some of my "real" mounts. Impressive to say the least!! I have to agree with you on the customer service at Artistic Anglers. I'm still waiting for them to call me back..... for over a year. I understand about being busy and all, but no call-back, kind of leaves a guy a bit "sour" if you know what I mean.... Question.... I have two fish that need to be "remembered". A 32.25"/12.7lb walleye and my largest pike ever at 49.5". No weight on that big girl but she had a belly on her you just wouldn't believe!! Both release to fight another day. I was fishing solo that week and didn't want to risk injury to the fish, so they were released without pictures. I can however, supply pics of each species, typical of the watershed for color and markings. Is this enough info to build my mounts?
Mark Christianson
Heck, I can get a 50 lb King Salmon for the wall, even though I have never caught a salmon... The beauty of replicas,,,,,you can do whatever you choose. BDR
49.5" Pike holy Mosesd thats a fish of anyones lifetime. I'd love to see a pic of that hog.Fibertech does very nice work. Moose-Hunter
Hi B.L.B.... Ha ha.... Good one. By the way... What's a salmon? (jk!!) Email is on the way...
Moose-Hunter
Hey there BDR... When I first saw her, I thought she was a muskie. Not "typical" for that lake chain, but some had been caught. So when she rolled over a bit and showed off her colors... I nearly collapsed!! It just didn't look "real". I'd love to see a picture of "that hog" as well. Somewhere in Iowa or Illinois, a couple pics of this fish DO exist.. But in over a year of trying, I have yet to make contact with these folks. I'm about to hire a detective to hunt them down. If for no other reason than to quiet down my doubting neighbor. LOL!!
ChadM
I had a 32" walleye done by Artistic Anglers in Duluth. He charges $11/inch for replica's. One suggestion I have is ask them to cut notches into the fins so that they are a little more realistic.
Walleye Guy
I have never had any issues with AA's customer service. Both Fibertech and AA do incredible work. I will say that the best repos seem to be of pike, muskies and the trout salmon family. The walleyes look pretty good but I have not seen one from any supplier that I didn't know it was a reproduction at the first glance. Don't get me wrong they still look good and you released the fish to fight another day.
Sportland_Bait
Fibertech is right around the corner from our bait shop. I've seen his work and highly recommend it to everyone. Fibertech is top notch for quality and service.Jason Erlandson
JohnD
Hey guys, how long does it take Fibertech to get one done and back to you?
Mark Christianson
4 to 6 weeks and sometimes sooner.A friend of mine ordered one a few weeks before Xmas, and it was done before Xmas.Awesome turn around time, every time.
JohnD
Wow, Biglakebass, I have to point this out, since no one has said it yet, but the pictures you posted on this thread of these replicas looks 100 TIMES better than the pictures that Fibertech has on their HSOforum, I've been kicking around the idea of where to get my next replica, and after I looked at Fibertech's HSOforum, I thought the fish looked plasticy and fake, but after seeing your post, I see how good those fish really look, and they look GOOD! You should contact Fibertech and offer them your photos for their HSOforum, in my opinion, they are much more flattering of their work. I now have no doubt about where I'll get my next replica done, thanksP.S. I have a replica of a 22 inch largemouth coming from Artistic Anglers, I submitted it in September of 2003 and am still waiting, I can't complain about their customer service, I was told it would probably take a year or more, but it would be nice to get it back in a month! Mark Christianson
Great point JohnD.I've thought about the same thing about the HSOforum pics, but having gotten replicas from them I don't bother to use the HSOforum because I know where I go for replicas.I'll get with the boyz at Fibertech, and see if we can't get some pic updates on the HSOforum. First impressions are important! Thanks
LEECH21
I agree, your pics look 100 times better than their web site pics! They need to really switch them or something. I would have never even considered them untill seeing your pics.
