Okuma & Pfleuger Reels

Any comments on these reels ?

Looking for a couple different other than my Ticas which I really like, but would like to try others on my non-Thorne Bros rods!!

Shimano came out with a new size reel, Its the 750 size.. larger than the super ultralight, and smaller than the 1000 size... I just ordered a few of the Sedona 750's and cant wait to get them on the ice.

I have some of the Okuma Avenger AV15's and AV20's. Very nice reels and good quality for the price. The AV15's are great ice fishing reels. Also have several friends who use these reels and are very impressed.

I was looking at the Okuma 15 or 20 as one choice and maybe the Pfleuger "Solara" as the other...

I have an Okuma 20 and love it. The reel is smooth and solid - and I paid $8 for it on hsolist - NEW. Deffinitely worth the money.

I just picked up a pfleuger solara at fleet farm. they had a sale price on them and i picked up the last one. i have never owned one of these babies before so i can't wait to see if it performs well in the cold. it seems to be made pretty solid.

the pflueger presidents and solars for the money are very good reels, 11 ball bearings, they are very smooth and economical.

Thanks for the feed back guys!! I went wih a Okuma AV20 & Pfleuger Solara, and I'm still looking for a place with the Shimano (750) new series.. which will force me to buy another rod Oh well its a disease I can't control !!

Tahoe-

I saw the 750 Shimano at Cabelas in Owatonna a few weeks ago. The reel is a little larger than say my Tica reel.

Thanks Hanson... I'll call them..looks like another (20) minute trip to Cabela's...

This must be the last one though as I've gone nuts for this comming season..Might need medication

All the above listed reels are good reels. I looked at the Shimano 750 and Im thinking it will be great on my larger eye and Laker rods. I love my Ticas and the one Flueger I have has been foolproof as well. The new Mitchels are Sweat as are the JR's tackle new Ice Reels and Rods. For the $ the JR's are hard to beat!
