Crappies!!!

Do you favor below or above the dam? I have not fished below yet.

Both areas a good for crappies. Usually you can get into some nice slabs in the finger near the overhang. Above the dam (adjacent area near boat launch) is a great spot for right when the ice pushes off for open water too.

I think Corey's kids have caught bigger crappies than I ever have.

My buddy was on fire with the slabs over the weekend, this 15" proved it. I do believe he took my favorite Midwest rod and Go devil from me that night too.

Sorry about the last post, this is the first time I have posted pictures on the forum. This photo is of my brother and I fishing up at Upper Red Lake this last Thursday and Friday. Caught some nice slabs!!

Hey Corey,

"The Realease" my (Contact US Regarding This Word). I don't see it goin down the hole! Who are you foolin. Just jokes! Great fish. I released a 15 1/4" crappie in January and it actually felt pretty good to do so.

tommyk, congratulations on releasing that 15.25" Crappie. It is quite a good feeling to watch a fish like that swim away! It's also nice to hear stories where others have released nice fish. The future is looking good for all if we all practice CPR and Selective Harvest.

Here's a question.

If you were really going to keep that fish Corey, would you even have taken that photo with the crappie so close to the hole. It doesn't look like you have a very good grip on it and it could easily flop out of your hand and OH NOOOOO!!!! There it goes!!!

Few crappies and bluegills caught today... Still some ice around these parts and the fishing is good... A lot of big gills today.... kept a few and tossed all the big big boys back...
