bugs me.

Heres a couple of things that bug me. Dale Earhardt was a 7 time winston cup champion not a 7 time nextel champion. The other thing is theres this subway commercial that has Bifle in it and it says 2 time race champion. Its race winner, are you a champion if you win one race. Thats like saying the twins are a 90 time champion because they won 90 games. Just trying to get this board going.

With the tobacco advertisers being banished, Winston withdrew from Nascar. This is against our 1st ammendment! Although I guess it's OK to advertise Viagra, but how do you explain that product to your 8 year old?

Champion, according to Webster is "a winner of first prize or first place in competition". My pet peeve is the TV announcers calling the race drivers "heroes". My personal opinion of a hero is those who place themselves in danger to save or protect others. Dont' get me wrong, I think racing can be a dangerous sport, as we all know, I just don't agree with "hero" status! Most heroes don't make that much money!!

I agree, its a crock. We're just keeping up with our socialist brothers over in Europe. They've been banning tobacco advertising on F1 cars for years.

Know come on guys, are you saying babe ruth wasn't many young mens "hero" back in the day? perhaps they should use "role model"..who cares? I think that they can be a hero, idle, role model, if thats what they want to call it... the idea is that they are a sports figure that people can look up to, for some reason... guess if I was gonna be politically correct, I wouldn't want a child to look up to a man that puts himself in danger for money and speeds cars to do it non-the less!! But, hey I love the sport and look up to them for being able to do it. Just as I do with some football, hockey and golf players...lol just kiddin about the golf.

On a diiferant thought what in the h*ll are you doing watching nascar? Hello, sundays were made for fishing..

Good news is the race is on saturday night this week 7:30 I think...Daytona GRRR My not so trusty "Rusty" is gonna have his hands full.

Biffle won truck series Championship in 2000, and Busch series Champion 2002.
