Trout Opener

Did anyone go out for the opener today? I had my alarm set this morning, but upon waking up, I just couldn’t justify making the long drive south to fish in this weather. Just curious to see if there was anyone braver/crazier than me?

Nope, I even bailed out of a trip down to Iowa last weeend to chase trout because of the temps.

Half of the experience of trout fishing for me is the sights, sounds and smells of spring.

From what I can see out the window or driving around for fun-cuz I got an SUV. 

Trout or Turkey openers in this Storm would blow worse then Stormy........

so far nothing here today besides a couple snow showers....

We got a bunch of rain, followed by slop, followed by ice pellets followed by a few inches of snow here in Rochester.  I think further SE, the trout country, got more.   Daughter in St Paul got somewhere around 15 inches....  

 

I'm guessing fishing wasn't easy or good.

I got an e-mail from the DNR, saying they haven’t been able to stock several different streams across the state because of snow and ice. They’re hoping to get it done sometime next week.
