I've also caught tullibee that are wormy, and I've never seen a wormy whitefish. And then there is also the mooneye in the Rainy River system, which look similar, but are also soft and mushy. They'll follow your offering up and down. After you fish for them for a while you can tell by their behavior on the locator that they are probably a Tullibee.
