Teddy goes down

Great start for the team.  With a healthy Teddy, AP, and O-line we would have been really excited to be 3-0 having played Green Bay and Carolina.  Being 3-0 without Teddy, AP, and with a patchwork O line is almost unbelievable.

I do still have concerns about the offense.  They D can't win every game for them so the O will need to figure it out sooner or later.  If they can be even an average offense then I like our chances but right now they are far from even being average.

I think we all need to keep in mind that the defense is basically the exact same group of players and coaches that were together all of last year.  They should be performing better than the offense.  Whereas, the offense has been completely reshaped during the off season and through injury.  It will take time to gel.  Also, remember the impact Diggs made last year once he was ready to play.  Zimmer just made the same comment about Treadwell not being ready yet.  Not saying he will make a huge impact, but he could provide an improvement over Johnson.  The O line needs to get it figured out.  Berger is solid, Fusco and Clemmings are improving.  Boone/Sirles and Smith need to get better quickly.

The defense carried the team through the last two weeks, which are also the most difficult weeks with the exception of GB in GB.  They are in great shape with what appears to be a favorable schedule based on early results in the NFL.  If the offense improves and the defense remains solid, they should have a good chance to win in most games.  Not saying they will win all games, just a chance to win.  And hope it doesn't come down to a last second field goal!

Are we comparing Teddy to Carr ? Is Carr good ? OK, simmering down fine keep Theodore for a backup because in 3 years when he's finally ready maybe again, Bradford might be down. People are assuming Ted can come back from this he nearly needed an amputation from what the training staff did saved his leg or was that report false ? I think the next Louisville guy might be a franchise QB. Ted needs to fill out in a hurry, maybe this down time will put some weight on him. I look at it this way in most sports. Is Teddy making the guys around him better or is it the other way. Either way we're 3-0 and I've forgotten Teddy just like everyone else has, no one is shedding a tear that Ted is sidelined, beat Rodgers and Newton back to back, feeling blessed Teddy wasn't out there tossing a flailed left handed pass to nobody.

I think we can thank our coach, the D will not lay down to anybody. We have made two MVP quarterbacks look like T-Jack lol. What a fun team to watch, is it sustainable? Only time will tell but I tell you what, nobody wants to play our D in the post season. That's what I'm excited about.  If Trent Dilfer can do it, we can do it.
