Weber Customer Service

sometimes companies farm out their warranty service to people working at home.  Sounds like you got transferred to the neighbor lady who's working from home.  Finally got the love connection we've all been waiting for.

Congrats on the good service!  We always knew you were in love and you finally said it.

probably the biggest thing Smurfy has accomplished all year and he did it:

on time, on budget, and safely (sounds like his safety is in question though).

Reb- you walked right into this.  Probably because you were so surprised you got good service.  I'm sure you were ready for a battle and they just took care of you.  It borders on disappointing when that happens and never happens at the DMV :)

Wrong, wrong, wrong, pooch whisperer, aka Lab Levitater. I've called Weber before and got great service. Was just thinking this wasn't covered by warranty, but wouldn't have cost much anyway, I figure. I'm so tapped out this month for cash anyway, every little bit helps. Maybe I should put a "hold" on that check to the DMV, and see if THEY get riled.  No, wait, they'd probably try to arrest me, then there'd be a Minnysoda stand-off to make that Oregon one look like a Sunday school picnic, to quote Mark Twain.

One of my grills is a going-to-be three year old Weber Spirit, and was cleaning it up today. There's a narrow "crossover"  burner "back tube" that runs between the burners with two little flame shields on top of it. Well, they just fell off. Called Weber, and gave them my Warranty reg# from when I bought it. Didn't figure that was covered..."yup, it sure is" said the nice lady. They're sending me a new one right out. That was one of the reasons I bought this Spirit, the great warranty. Good to know someone really does stand up with their warranty. Plus, a REAL english speaking midwest lady that told me some funnies, too! "There sure are a lot of stupid people out there today, noticed when I was driving in"....  I think I'm in love.

Have you told Shari you are running around on her?

I agree Reb. Those DMV folks can be some rather humorless bastages. Still baffled as to why it takes almost 2 months to get collector plates. No one could explain that one.

Ditto on the Weber customer service. Have ordered stuff online from them as it wasn't available anywhere I'd make a special point of driving to. Same thing. Friendly, spoke English  and understood exactly what I was looking for. All my Webers are charcoal but when my small cheapy gas grill biffs it, I plan on replacing it with a Weber gas model.

SSHHHHHH!!!!  Cripes, Del, don't you have some seagulls to feed or something?!

Yer right Dotch. The Lab Levitater and I were just discussing why the DMV takes CHECKS ONLY...that's gotta be pretty stupid in this day and age. The ones in CAWchester do that, anyway. Had some ticked off folks Monday when I picked up those over TWO HUNDRED dollar tiny tabs. Guy in front of me had no checkbook.....I can't feel sorry for them getting hooted at when that's all they'll take for payment.

let's not lose focus here.  Start a DMV thread somewhere else.  I think the title of this is:

Here Comes the Bride, not DMV complaints....wonder what Boar is up to?

dang I think I took coffee in thru my nose on that one!!!!!!:D:lol:

That's correct, and surprisingly from LL (Lab Levitater) himself, of all people. Stay in FOCUS . Stick to the thread subject, Weber CS. FOCUS, people!  You too, Smurf. Want I should spell it real S-L-O-W for ya?  :P

Sounded like you wanted to be serviced, all right

But, remember that a bird next Dore is better than one on the phone, or something like that.

I think you meant a bird in the bush means time for a trim. ;)

I had a pic of a sheep ready to download but I just couldn't do it reb, that's some funny stuff fellas.  I'm gonna get off topic to get on topic . I agree all around,  the bowl on my 22" was warped after a year or so, called weber up and gave em some numbers and sure enough got me a new bowl ..:).  Another thing, their products last a long time, I've owned 2 22" kettle charcoalers in 19 years , never been covered, been thru he!! and both still are in working order, one his here and the other at the cabin.

That's what convince me to cough up the extra money over the other "thin tin" grills, bobber. Some really are getting pretty bad. Wire grills, fireboxes ya put punch thru with one hand. The only thing I wish Weber would do is "porcelainize" their cast iron grates. Those clean up really nice. I can maintain a 225* temp all day with this little Spirit.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
