Popular Post Juneau4
This day only happens once a year, let's not allow it to pass on a cooking forum without recognition. I've personally started out the day with sausage, eggs and pancakes smothered with maple syrup and real butter. My noon meal (is this lunch or dinner?) should be some deep fat fried crappies, French fries and coleslaw. Afternoon snack (after my nap) summer sausage, pickled fish, potato chips and Sam Adams(maybe 2). The evening meal (is this supper or dinner) Broccoli cheese soup, beef roast, mashed tators and gravy, carrots, all served with wine and strawberry shortcake for desert. Snack before bed- that will depend -it maybe a medium size pizza & Sam Adams or just a large bowl of ice cream topped with pineapple, strawberrys , caramel, and chocolate. It's up to YOU to commemorate this day in your own way! Dotch, lovebigbluegills, ThunderLund78 and 2 others

Xplorer
Shrimp po'boys with remoulade sauce, a bowl of seafood gumbo, and a few deep fried oysters (and calamari rings for my son) are on the menu for dinner tonight. Dotch
reinhard1
Thanks a lot. Should have been posted last week. Yesterday was our official DIET plan beginning. I had boneless chicken breast with asparagus and will have left over breast thrown in a salad today. I marinated the breast in Italian dressing for about 5 hours. Rinsed them off and seasoned them. They were very moist and tender this way. good luck. bobberineyes, RebelSS, Cooperman and 1 other

lovebigbluegills
You'll have to get a shorter bus for most of us though. Especially us 218 Norwegians!!! 11 hours ago, Juneau4 said: This day only happens once a year, let's not allow it to pass on a cooking forum without recognition. For dinner, I had pizza and wings from dominos, and for supper I had a reuben with green beans for a side. Juneau4
"Burp" met my goal of yesterday pretty much. Just dropped the fish and fries out of the menu and moved the pizza up to noon.(it was national pizza day). To me the noon meal is dinner and the evening meal supper, this has caused some confusion at times. Lean and mean for rest of week, anyway till the weekend. RebelSS
I noticed this wunnerful high falutin' town I live in had no Fat Tuesday specials anywhere. Probably don't even know what it is. Couple a years ago, myself and two friends, who usually go out for St. Pat's every year, must have gone to/called ten restaurants in this town to see if anyone had Colcannon on the menu. Couldn't find one that knew what we were even talking about, yet they all advertised "Irish menus items" for that day. They think a green tap beer and some overcooked cabbage and fatty corned beef is a "real Irish meal". Heck, no one even had soda bread. We ended up going to my house for drinks and pizza, which the ladies decided was as good as anything that day. Take out pizza place sure was empty.
