lovebigbluegills
Looks like a dandy lunch Bobber!!! Glad to hear you did some smurfing last night Smurf!!! Same old grind for a couple more days, and hopefully it will be dry enough around here this weekend to get a couple early season food plots in for the deer. Nothing on the docket yet for the smoker, I'll have to ponder that and get something taken out. Have a great day everybody!!!! Popular Post RebelSS
THat looks sooper, bobber! But I'd dump it all into one BIG taco shell and proceed. Morning all. Sunny and 52* here...WAS supposed to be raining with T-storms...same as yesterday. Had light rain in the afternoon. Got a few drops of dew on the lily last nite . Can't even get that right. I don't know of any job you have to go to college for at least two years for so you can be wrong 90% of the time. Saw a cartoon years ago that said "US Weather Bureau", and there was an old fart with his foot and big toe stuck out on the window ledge, while he read a magazine. Wish I could find it. When I was a kid, I always wanted to be a weatherman or a cop. At least I picked the right one. Speaking of dew on the lily, you were supposed to sow yer seeds LAST NITE, Smurfy, ol' boy. I woke up at 4:00 am and looked out, there was a bright moon up high, and heavy ground fog. Pretty neat sight. Looks like I might finally get that edging and rock in tomorrow with my buddy. Still wiped out good with the leg pain **** from all the yard work last week. Stir up that spine and nerves bad, and it makes ya pay for it for a week. Kinda like being married, huh? Looks like I'm having chicken drumsticks on the grill tonite..or maybe that fat Iowa chop. Have a good day, guys....I'm headin' for the cawfee pot. bobberineyes, reinhard1, LindellProStaf and 2 others

Dotch
Is that some of roony's kale on those tacos bobber? And he thought the bunnies were getting it. They look delish BTW and I'm getting hungry. Mornin' everone. Sun has come out swinging so moods are somewhat more upbeat for the time being. .2" of rain at the ranch and .19" in Bugtussle proper with the promise of more Sunday night into Monday. Then perhaps another decent chance on Wednesday. Got some hazelnut bushes to plant so should try to put those in before all that. Mother Nature does a much better job of watering than I do. A little tacky in the fields now so I can hide for a while. Could even sneak home and nap today as Mrs. Cheviot is on a mission to the TC after lunch. Weather may cooperate for more gardening over the weekend as well as the first rhubarb pie and sauce. Need to get some more sugar anyway as the hummingbirds are getting closer. Heard of some orioles in town nearby but have yet to see them. I was so tickled to hear the Western meadowlark singing this morning. Apparently they're staying around this year. They're one of my favorites since childhood although it's been a while since we've had them here. Helps to have some pasture and hay ground for them to nest in. lovebigbluegills, leechlake, RebelSS and 1 other
leechlake
Here at my ranch we got about 1/4" and some bunnies have moved into the oat field and are doing some crop predation. Belle over did her job last night when the wife let her out at bed time 5 minutes after I already had and the lab vs bunny race commenced. It was raining and Belle stayed out for about three hours until she came home wet and tired. I always wonder what the dog does for three hours. One thing she isn't doing is snuggling with me and I always ponder getting the phone call to come scrape her off of the road. Black dog at night in the rain seems like an easy thing to hit with a vehicle. All of our dogs have died of old age and I want to keep it that way. When I was 6 my dog got hit by a car pheasant hunting and it was the saddest day of my life. The car owner sent my dad a bill for the damage too. What a Dick! 42 years later and I'd like to hunt that clown down and key his car. It was near Ipswich, SD so if anyone out there knows a guy who ran over a 4 year old golden retriever named Rusty in 1973 PM me. lovebigbluegills and LindellProStaf
ThunderLund78
Bad Morning - well, not morning anymore but "Mourning." just found out that Prince died. That's a sad deal. Weird guy for sure but he was an amazing talent. RebelSS

Popular Post LindellProStaf
Good day to all of you. On my Union lunch break now. We don't get long and then back to more quality work. A gray day here with a little drizzle. But I am still eating those smoked country style ribs with of course america's favorite veggy green beans. After I started smoking them I thought what am I doing two packages for? It is only the two of us. The wife doesn't like more than a day or so of leftovers. Like I have said before I can do them till gone most of the time. I still have enough ribs so I can even have some tomorrow for lunch. LOL Therefore I think it will be chicken on the grill this weekend for a change of pace. Last night we grilled some of our venny beef burger combo. I ground my whole deer up and combined it with hamburger. Tasty. Things are a lot more cheerful at our place now after a few days and yes Rebs I am sort of looking for a replacement horse so our other horse has a pasture pal. Got the other camper cleaned up last night and have a couple coming over too look at it. It looks pretty good after the big cleaning. Would be nice if they took it before I even had to advertise it. Congrats Smurfy, good man. Well gotta go back to work. lovebigbluegills, bobberineyes, smurfy and 2 others

ThunderLund78
Prince always kept it about the music and the fans and not the industry. I guess you'd consider me a fan of his talent - although his early, more rock-style stuff is top-notch. I'm not as much of a funk or R&B guy which is definitely where he gravitated in his later years. But man the guy could write music. I do remember - VERY Vaguely - bouncing around in the hatch-back area of my family's old Ford Pinto when I was about 4 or 5 years old. these were days before strict car-seat laws. Growing-up in the sleepy little river valley town of Henderson, MN, not much ever really happened. But one day mom threw me in the car to make a run into town and they had the road blocked. There were all kinds of vehicles parked everywhere, trailers, etc. Turns out Prince was in Henderson, filming some of the Motorcycle riding scenes from Purple Rain. Not every day you get someone like that in your town of 700 people. Pretty neat for a 5-year-old to see. LindellProStaf and RebelSS
lovebigbluegills
Thanks LPS, that's what I'll get for the smoker this weekend--country style ribs. That sounds darn good, it's been quite a while since we've had them. I think they're even on special this week ta boot!!!! I can do leftovers for as long as it takes too, the wife not so much.
