That was my plan LPS, pulling the drag over it a few times and hope it disappears.

I am sure we will spend some time in the new camper and try to get Bob the Cat more used to it.  lol  She just does not like being out of her domain.  She may not be a camper cat. I thought it would be fun to have her on a leash beside my lawn chair.  May not happen.  Ok I have been too windy here so see ya all later again.  Kudos to all of you.

I've heard a lot of time in this new camper and I'm just saying that I'm guessing the shocks (if a camper has shocks)are getting a work out.  Trying to keep it clean but this camper may be used for a way different fashion than RH's hunting Jayco.  Right RH?

I don't need a camper but may pick up one of those tiny Scamp trailers if I'm right.

Wow! The sunshine has the crew here chirping like a bunch of birds. Can't hardly keep up. :D Speaking of birds, looked up high in the sky on my way out to do chores and heard a familiar sound: About 80 snows and blues about a mile up. The sun was catching their bottom side and their higher pitched squawking made me harken back to my days in ND. Still miss that place somedays. An outdoorsman's paradise and I had the good fortune to live right in the middle of it for 3 years. Along those lines, need to kick the deer mice out of the wood duck houses here and put new shavings in them over the weekend. My little fat Swedish carpenter buddy had 11 wood ducks on his pond the other day.

27 - 8 in the lambing barn right now. According to my scientific calculations, we're about 2/3 done. Should be a nice weekend to move some more critters around, maybe get the Silver Hawk out and run it around if there's time. Hearing about boar putting baseball cards in the spokes of his bike makes me get the itch. Must be vigilant though or it may get Mrs. Cheviot wanting to show PDA. If she tries to fold the front seat down flat when it's parked, I will run! Of course, I will have to grill. I bet there are some chops waiting for me to marinate them. More apple wood and pear wood to play with. Need to be careful though so Mrs. Cheviot doesn't play with my wood! ;)

Coffee, you have absolutely nothing to apologize for. The American sheep and lamb industry has had its head up its @ss for a long time. Still does. There is such a tremendous difference in how the animals are raised from farm to farm and between breeds that the product being sold isn't consistent. I've had some at banquets that's just horrible and would be no matter how it was prepared. Strong flavored, overcooked and tough. Ish!!!! What really torques me off is that people who raise lamb, especially these club lambs won't eat it. What kind of message does that send? If they did maybe they'd figure out what the problem is.

We've reintroduced a lot of people to lamb after they've had bad experiences. Pretty hard to go wrong with shish kabobs. We usually grill some hamburgers too just in case. In every instance, the hamburgers have gone untouched. Getting an animal to market quickly and having large chops is only part of the equation. If it tastes awful and no one will eat it let alone buy it again, what have you gained? Coincidentally, we delivered some lamb to a lady yesterday who had bought some from us a couple years ago. Loved it. She was given some from one of these high end show lambs last year and did not like it. She was tickled to have some of the "good stuff" again.

a ram makes love to a ewe and has a lamb.  The lamb eats grass and water and ends up on the grill.  Pretty close to free if you ask me!  See Dotch?  You've been eating "free" food for years.

FYI-I'm getting tired of the free line so don't worry I won't go on much longer.

Have to get out and enjoy this weather while it's here...62* for today; rain and snow next week says my wedder widget. Lows in he 30's....guess the snow blowers are gonna sit for awhile. Still think back to that huge May snowstorm we had a few years back that snapped trees and powerlines here, and caused a lot of flooding. That was when i said to heck with it and put in my sump pump and tiling. Never can rush the wedder around here. Back to the store today, somehow I forgot the green peppers and eggs that were on my list grocery shopping yday. Get's me some exercise though.  Will be making those burger patties up later for the grill with some chopped onions and worcestershire in 'em.  Bought the sesame seed buns yday, didn't forget those. Ok, time to head to the store....again.

Good afternoon. Just popping in to say that this little sect of HSO is pretty dang entertaining. I have lurked around in Sillytown a bit on slow days, just for the occasional nugget of entertainment, funny political rants, or exciting escalating literary squabbles, but it's more annoying than anything most of the time.

Not sure why but I like short little, witty, meaningless posts. Didn't know the Cooking forum was the mindless banter mecca!

you've come to the right place for that.  Most of these guys give ya nothing, absolutely nothing.  I, on the other hand, provide many many answers and when needed ask many many questions that prompt posts that easily would be in the HSO "Best of" and/or Hall of Fame.  Someday I'm sure my number will be retired.

If your planning on hanging around here RH hosts a football game the first Thursday of every month by his house and they are always looking for a new center for some reason.  And yes...it's free. :)

As a center in high school football I will say that soft hands are something that quarterbacks should strive for - they're not just for hockey players and wide receivers.

I wasn't actually a center but considering RH (who's that?) games must have an HSO'er for a QB, it's no wonder you can't keep a center on the payroll.

In all seriousness this corner of the page is just the niche for y'all's senses of humor. And I like reading about lambing... gotta help a foal pop out this spring, first time ever, so I'm soon to be a real farmer.

Oops...  I have to fill you in.  One day RH (the king of sausage making, has a page called sausageheavenoutdoors) posted something or another about being from Andover and one of the nerdewels on here discovered there is literally a nudist colony of some sort in Andover.  The fellas had some fun with that and then one day I went off my rocker and made up a story of a nude flag football game and mentioned some guys by name.  In my attempt at humor I actually made it sound like a Pride Festival or something.  Unfortunately by the time I saw the responses the edit button no longer worked so I was screwed.

Now however you have volunteered to be center in that game and you mentioned "soft hands" and well....I have nothing else to add.  Congratulations I think you've met the hazing requirement!

This guy is talking about "soft hands" in the macho Smoking and Cooking forum where we only watch from the fence at the Nudist camp by Reinharts house?  Hi Deet.  LL is the one who wanted to play nude football not us....  Watch out who you choose as a mentor here...   lol  Seriously all good guys here.  Welcome.....  Ok I am signing off now.  Going for a walk along the still frozen river...  Later boys.  I mean MEN!!
