A clip from the news today......:tired:

Weather forecasts are predicting temperatures around zero with a wind chill of -20, which would make it one of the coldest games in NFL history. The coldest game in franchise history is 2 below zero on Dec. 3, 1972, at Met Stadium. The NFL record is 12 below zero for the NFL Championship game at Lambeau Field in 1967, which is famously called "The Ice Bowl."

The Vikings have acknowledged the special circumstances and taken steps to keep fans safe and as warm as possible. Free hand warmers will be distributed at the game, free hot coffee will be available from Caribou Coffee vendors at the stadium until kickoff, and Mariucci Arena will be opened as a warming house for those brave enough to tailgate before the noon kickoff.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer and owner Mark Wilf both commented on the unusual conditions as it relates to Vikings fans planning to cheer on the home team.

"The first thing we need our fans to do is make an advantage for us," Zimmer said. "They need to be loud and make sure they have some tailgating beforehand so they stay warm."

Added Wilf: "We know Minnesotans are resilient when it comes to cold weather and unified when it comes to the Vikings, so we view this Sunday's game as a rallying moment. At the same time, we want our fans to be smart and safe when they are supporting the team, and we are taking a few extra steps to assist in that effort this
