RebelSS
Name TWO New Years Eve goodies you have had to have over the years. My two, that I think I've been making for over 30 years, in addition to all the cheese, crackers, etc., are the little smokies in BBQ sauce and shrimp cocktail. Simple and easy. I add smoked chipotle pepper, a splash of bourbon or whiskey, and a shot of Worcestershire to my favorite BBQ sauce, and pour over the smokies in a fondue pot. (Ya, I've had it since 1976, and still going strong) They simmer for the nite, until I hit the sack. Love eating those cold in the am...I get the large or extra large shrimp and toss in a chilled dish with a cup of cocktail sauce in the middle. Best to eat lotsa cheese slices in between those and the smokies; or ya end up dipping the shrimp in with the smokies....then ya can't tell the two apart. 'Course, that happened a lot more when I was drinking. Edited December 27, 2015 by RebelSS bobberineyes and reinhard1
bobberineyes
For several years we would treat ourselves to deep fried anything on the eve, fish, shrimp and especially cheese curds. Lately we've been trying cut back on all the oil so the two we've been doing is crab legs and prime rib.... RebelSS
Popular Post leechlake
fondue. Don't know why, I think it's my wifes families deal. Cut up some beef and shrimp with bread and sauces. The other thing we used to do when the kids were little was to turn the clocks ahead 3 or 4 hours. You just slip it in during the day and they get to celebrate staying up til midnight and then they are sleeping at around their normal time. Not a bad plan for adults either.I think fondue is fun because you sit around in a cirlcle and talk and make your own food. We're pretty witty over here so we call it Fundue. LindellProStaf
This is not the season to eat healthy so we are having Lobster dunked in lots of butter. Will also have some brussell sprouts from our garden and a salad. Probably a few Manhattans as we get ready. Speaking of fondue, I might have melted cheese on the veggies.... That sounds great. reinhard1 and RebelSS

reinhard1
I have never gone out for new years in my life. I know it's sounds unreal but I'm not into crowds and never have been. Always had new years at home or on the ice. I'll probably have wings and shrimp with rice for a side. good luck.

ThunderLund78
LBBG, Whatever your standard pack of frozen meatballs-in-a-bag are. I now there are some that despise those, and there are some brands that are indeed awful. But there are quality ones, too. We usually just buy the bag to save time. Enjoy! lovebigbluegills
lovebigbluegills
Sounds good. I'll be giving the recipe a whirl in the not too distant future.
