Coolest thing ever Scoot!  Been trying to get my boys on a deer for a couple years.  Just can't get them out enough to get it done.  I guess I just suck at guiding.  LOL!

Thanks very much, guys!  Ryan has been on Cloud 9 ever since he shot the deer.  Not a single day has gone by where he didn't ask me, "Dad, can you believe I shot a deer?"  He and I are both still pretty dang happy about it all and we both appreciate your kind words of encouragement!

Last night Ryan and I hunted with my bro-in-law, Brandon. Brandon has a tag and he wants some venison. However, Brandon doesn't hunt much, so he relied on us to fill his tag for him (legal in MN).

Ryan shot this doe last night a little before 5:00. His shot was high and he hit it in the spine. It dropped instantly and I immediately put an arrow through both lungs- over in seconds. Ryan said his pin was over the heart and "just perfect", but just as he squeezed off he felt/saw his pin float up, and off the arrow went. The good news is it worked out and I'm glad I was there to put a follow up shot in right away. This was pretty cool- tag teaming with Ryan on his 2nd deer!

FYI- this was opening weekend of the gun season, so we were decked out in orange. Ryan isn't very interested in gun hunting at this point (apparently the apple doesn't fall far from the tree), so he and I were flinging arrows, not lead!

I remember the picture Scoot, it was a very fun weekend of opening rifle at your place. I was pumped for Ryan.
