Last night's operation:

Cut up two smaller half legs of lamb and cubed them Sunday. Marinated 24 hrs. in Grillmates Zesty Herb Blend, a couple cups of pineapple juice, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup canola oil, ~ 2 tsp. of curry powder and ~ 2 tsp. dried minced onion. Peppers and onions for veggies. Not as good as fresh from the garden but not bad. Grilled direct with pear wood on the side for additional smokeage. When I spread the coals and put the grate in the grill, I brought my mitts back in the house. Didn't think much about it when I put them back in the drawer. In my trips in and out, I could smell some smoke that wasn't grilling related but wasn't registering as to what it was. Hmmm...didn't really bother me until I determined it wasn't going away. Then I remembered where I'd smelled it before: Potholder!!!! I checked the drawer and sure enough one mitt was smoldering away. Probably wouldn't have had enough air in there to cause trouble but wasn't taking any chances so I dipped it in water quick. Anyway, some Scottish origin gin to go with preparing some Scottish origin lamb. Lotsa leftovers that warm up well. Gotta love it! :D

A quote form Sheldon Cooper "little pieces of charred meat that taste like sweat" Dotch, can you confirm?

Ah, Cooperman. Not a follower of The Big Bang Theory although the bits and pieces I've seen are pretty humorous. Still trying to catch up on my Andy Griffith, Bonanza, Rawhide and Gunsmoke reruns on my black and white TV. When I post I have to climb the telephone pole with my laptop. It's cold up here! I would have to say that if it tastes like sweat, it's mystery meat. What I raise melds very well with the marinade. It is tender and delectable. Would rather eat this lamb than beef any day. In fact, there is still an ongoing range war out here. I take my sidearm and rifle with me wherever I go. Never know when someone might take a potshot at me. Right now I'm busy damming up the water so the neighbors cows don't have any. When I'm not having a juniper berry extract and quinine water that is. :D

The Big Bang chick just isn't the same in black and white and if the wind keeps blowing up here, I ain't gonna get any wood anyway! Helen was hot although I always thought she was sorta slutty, probably doin' Otis on the side when Andy wasn't looking. I was kinda sweet on Thelma Lou as she was more wholesome. Don't be makin' fun of Aunt Bee! She was hot in her day!   Besides, she was a documented Studebaker driver! 'Nuff said!

Helen was a bossy tart. Another one of those high-maintenance fluffs, even in the 60's...and "posing" as a schoolteacher. Ya, right.  She was prolly meetin' Ernest T. behind Wally's and having Goob cover for her. ;)  I imagine Aunt Bee used a hopped-up Stude to do midnight pickle runs. Pretty blowsy down here, too. I see my charcoal Weber cover has blown off and is rolling around the yard....

Dotch,

just fun'in ya, I couldn't resist. Actually, l have never tasted lamb. Funny you should mention Andy Griffith, I was just watching it. I noticed in the window of the market, they had 5 lbs of bacon for 29 cents, what a deal. Oh, and Aunt Bee did look pretty good in those tight dresses.

The can must be a spitune..:)

it could be.  There is another can right out of the picture but at this point I either can't tell the difference or I don't care.  It's funny how I will tell everyone else to go to the doc and then I don't.  Hypocrisy.  Besides with our health insurance "it's free"  I think.

Well if anyone takes very much seriously in these cooking threads, they are sadly mistaken. But seriously, :D if you start with good stuff and it's prepared correctly, lamb is bomb. And seriously, if someone stops in from these threads here with some 24 hr. warning provided I'm around, I'm most likely going to whip up some chops, burgers, shish kabob, etc. Have been grilling lamb now for about 40 years. Between hibachi's, gas grills, Webers, etc., think I may be starting to get the hang of it. ;) Gotta get down off the pole and get some tincture. Dayim it's cold up on top of this pole! I'm gonna be the same color as smurfy pretty quick!

Is there a limit to how many times a month we can arrange this?  If not we could also have a "frequent diners" club punch card and you could get a cute fluffy sheep puncher to punch our cards.  Your house could turn into like the college hangout house from back in the day.  Mrs Cheviot walks in the door and me and six other guys from here are sitting on the couch and your chair watching MTV.  "I think Mark's out doing some chores but he said he should be back to watch the end of the show."  She would love us!!!

I made home made lemonade a couple times the last week.  It's really good.

See Reb?  If I can do it you may be able to also. :)

PS-  sometimes when I post I don't even know what the thread topic is.  Sometimes I go up and look but mostly I don't.  It's a long way to the top of the page sometimes.
