Just Food and Drink

Recommended Posts

Here goes.  Mrs LL is going to make Spring Rolls.  I believe this is her solo voyage on the Just Food and Drink thread.  I feel like crud and printed out the recipe.  I have extreme confidence in her doing this, she obviously is a very patient woman and I will be posting a photo in the next short while.  At this point if she gives me food poisoning I won't know the difference, nothing to lose.   She looks cute doing it at least to me...and Boar.

Reb is gonna have some meatballs, noodles, and a salad right now.  She can use her own wand. Most witches have one. :)

I guess I should have said Reb can show her what he can do with his "wand".

OK, your basic after bottle lamb feeding shepherd food. Should be enough to trigger a nap later. :) Grilled Swiss, cottage cheese, some leftover corn and a sampling from one of the 17 jars of store bought pickles in the fridge. Trying to eat them up but starting to feel like Andy and Barney consuming all Aunt Bee's "award winning" pickles.

Ha! Loved that episode....and that placemat.  Ooooh, grilled swiss! Only store bought pickles I can eat are Vlasic or Claussen dills. You ever mix dried chived in yer cottage cheese? I used to eat that as a kid, don't see it anymore, so for years, I've put a heaping tablespoon of chopped chives in a carton. Go thru lots of chives here.

Just tried a new hardboiled egg method. No poking, steak in one of those baskets for 13 minutes, chill in ice water, and shake in a plastic storage container to Crack the shells all over.  They practically shoot out of your hand.

Gotta take some pics and go for speed next time since it is worthy of the egg thread.

What the hey are you talking about, Del?! Steak? baskets?!  Say what? I just don't get why there's such a prob peeling HB eggs! (as evidenced by a certain neat video  ) Speaking of vids, was listening to some good ol' 50's, and I've wondered...are you somewhere in this pic, or isn't this the right group?

As close as I came today was tearing my smoker apart and cleaning everything. That last pork butt I smoked had a ton of fat, what a mess. Reb, now that you mentioned it, I do remember CC with chive, wow, that goes back.

Was talking to my cousinette in sunny Californy a bit ago, she and the hose puller are making fish and chicken tacos for dinner. I had to give them grief about their "widdle fishy-wishy and chicky" tacos. You know, those Californy folk....  I had some boneless chicken boobs thawed out for supper, with no idea what to make. Hmmmmmm......Tacos....nope, no taco shells. But, my ever present flour tortillas....cut the breasts into strips, and put in a 1/ 2 pk of taco seasoning, and 1/2 pk of spicy taco seasoning, and about 1/2 cup of water. Cooked a while.....

Then took it out and shredded it into small strips. Shredded some lettuce, and chopped some 'mato's and onions, grabbed some sharp cheddar, hot sauce, and rolled 'em up with a good dollop of sour cream. They were really good, for an off-the-cuff quicky.(quiet, Smurfy!) Someone ate all four, though.

Note to Fork Police: These were a hands-on dinner. No forks were harmed during the meal.

Del must be using his soused-up verde thing to cook eggs. Bet my new blue blaster would blow the shells right off them pups.

Tried sous video eggs.  Sort of interesting the way they turn out at different temperatures, since the various parts and proteins coagulate at different temperature.

Can be tough to peel.

This was boiling water and a steamer basket.  Oh, and that cookware store by trader Joe's has the sous video supreme on clearance.
