Everyone Relax!

I want to spit this out before next weeks game, this posting being sparked by the "Throw the Ball" thread.

Next week, if the Vikes blow out the Bears, people will say "Yeah, it's just the Bears."

Others will be back on the Daunte-band-wagon.

And others will be impartial, stating the season is too early to support any talent theorys just yet.

But the point I want to make is this: The PACKERS lost to the BEARS.

So if the Green and Gold is better then the Purple and Gold, but the Vikes beat the Bears, then what excuse can anyone give me for this little ooopsie doo by the Pack last weekend?

I see Monday's game as a good learning experience. Daunte has proven he can audible and be effective under moderate pressure. And now, 2 weeks in, he has seen about as bad of pressure that he's going to all season.

So, being a Vikes fan, I say Don't panick folks.

14-2. We will lose only 1 more game, and Daunte will be, at the end of the SUPER BOWL, both League and Super Bowl MVP.

Fire Mike Tice???

Sorry to see we have so many band wagoners here. I am saving the "Throw the Ball" thread on my computer to reference later in the season and after the super bowl.

Remeber last season, Philly started 0-2.

And one more thing.

If the Vikings started the season 4-0, 5-0, 6-0, and no matter how convincing the victory, all we would hear is how we started 6-0 last year, and then fell apart.

So maybe it's good we lose one now.

There was only one team to win every game in a season in the history of the NFL. What do you expect?

I'm a life long Vikings fan and there was nothing more sweeter than watching the hapless Packers lose to the Bears.

I kind of take offense to being called a "band wagoner" I used to be a season ticket holder, but with a home and a family I pay enough just to sit in my own living room and watch them on the big screen.

I think Daunte is the quarterback that can lead this team to a Super Bowl, but somebody has got to go out there and kick him in the a$$ and say, see that receiver 30 yards down field waving his hand, throw the ball to him. Maybe that’ll make the corners think twice about blitzing every other play.

UJ, I agree completely. Except the 14-2 part, that would be great though. I think that the injuries to Rosy and Sass are going to require some guys to step up. Whether they are able to do that will go along way towards how far the purple can go. With their injuries, mistakes, and playing on the road against the general consensus best team in the conference, they just about won. I still see them as a team that can win the Super Bowl, but they're going to have to crawl over the Seahawks (2-0 all on the road this year), and the Eagles. It's too bad they couldn't have gotten Philly in the dome. UJ's right, its a long season.

What game was tice watching? What were his assistants watching up in the booth? Obviously not crucial catches in the 4th quarter...I heard on KFAN he had 3 guys assigned to that role up there. Talk about pathetic.

Hey UJ, I couldn't agree with you more. I don't know about 14-2 but let's let the season pan out and dare to dream.

Just like baseball, hockey, basketball, soccer, etc.....It's a long season. We've only played 2 games.

I agree that 14-2 is overly optimistic, although not impossible. I do think they'll win 10 maybe 11 games & probably get to the conference championship. They could get to the Super Bowl, but those injuries hurt a lot & could make the difference. I'm comfortable with Daunte, the jury's still out on our D.

Metrojoe the problem is he didnt have recievers wide open 30 yards downfield the other night. The eagles rolled a safety over the top on every play that game. They had safetys 20 yards off the line of scrimmage on Randys side all night. They were able too stop what little running the vikes did with there front 7. They took their chances on the vikes "dinking and dunking" their way down the field and in this game it paid off due too constant mistakes. But let me tell you all something, this eagles team doesnt want too see this viking team come post season. Back of all their heads they know they couldnt stop the vikes the other night, only the vikings could stop the vikings. Even though they lost, the vikings would hold a major confidence in facing this team again knowing they shot themselves in the foot over and over and were within 8 points with 1:30 to go. You all think about that, to go into the home of what many "experts" say is the best team in the NFC, shoot themselves over and over, and still stay in the game. This team will make good of the monday night loss.

Ok, sit back and read...

I dont post much about the Vikings. Mainly because I dont want to get in a [PoorWordUsage]ing match on a keyboard. But, I can't hold it in after todays game.

I havent missed a game in over 4 years. Before that I may have missed 1 a year max. Lifelong fan, but my upcoming thoughts are concerning the Vikings Post 1998.

They have had 1/2 of what they needed to win the Superbowl any of those years, but never had a Defense. They have made meager attempts at fixing this obvious problem, but never the right moves. Mainly because they have made very poor free agent pickups. I mean they guys arent "Free" agents for no reason. They have past over MANY high first round corners in those past years, but went for players like Haayer, Mckinnie(who drives me nuts every game, HIGHLY toughted, but cant block a single spin. Also on his can every time I see him.)

Then, they hire Mike Tice. I remember his first NFL game. The Vikings vs. Ravens Monday Night Football, final game of the year. They had to win to put the Seahawks into the playoffs. Vikings down like 5 points I believe, Mike Tice calls a PUNT at MIDFIELD with about 2 minutes left. Are you KIDDING? Has he watched the Vikings D play before? This, right there, led to me saying great this guy is our new coach.

Dont even ask me what plays Im talking about, or that Mike Tice isnt the Offensive Cordinator, HE is the Head Coach. HE makes the WORSE Offensive CRITICAL calls of ANY coach I have ever seen. I try to wash most of them out of my memory, but being I saw at least 5 today that were insanely stupid, Ill question just those, today.

Your up what 7 points, your in the red zone and call a reverse to a guy that weighs 150 pounds. Mount Mckinnie blows another block coverage , Kelly Cambell gets destroyed for a fumble. Nice play call there Mike.

1st and Goal on the 2, after Burlesons nice 60 yd catch. They call 3 pass plays, luckily get the last one. Ever hear of running the ball up the gut? Wake up, a pick returned for a TD was very possible, this time it didnt happen.

SHOTGUN on 3rd and 1 from the redzone, Good LORD QB sneak Tice ahhh!

Going into the SOFTEST coverage ever seen allowing the Bears to drive 80 yards for a TD. This seems to happen WHENEVER the Vikings have the lead and are trying to hold it at the end of the game.

Passes over the middle, STOP dropping your MLB's back in coverage and KEEP them where they SHOULD BE. How many 5-8 yards passes up the MIDDLE do we see EVERY GAME? Come ON!

They need a Head Coach. Mike Tice would be a great O line coach, but he is NOT a good head coach. All I can hope for is a change after this season. They will go NOWHERE with this terrible play calling. Get him out , please. They still have many great Offensive years, now they need someone to drive that machine. Tice cant, he has continued to prove this. Some just can't see it.

I agree. I also heard he doesn't "Make Calls" anymore. OC and DC do that.

Nonetheless if he aint making the stupid calls then he needs to have a talk with the source of the "bad" calls.
I also think he gets his players too pumped up at the beginning of the season...
Remember last year when we played the bears? Stupidest Quote of All Time by Tice.

I'm afraid I must agree with you re: Tice. We continually hear that the hallmark of a well coached team is a low number of penalties called against them, well is there a more penalized team this year than the Vikes? As far as their red zone offense- I think we should start refering to it as the Red Faced Zone offense. I thought one of the few bright spots in today's game was the way O. Smith was running the ball and then with a first and goal inside the 5 they call 3 pass plays in a row!?
I realize that 3 games does not a season make but I still don't think Tice is the man for the job. Ol'Sneller

HAPLESS PACKERS!!!!!!!HA!!!!!!!!! Who has a superbowl in the last decade???? or make it 4-5 for that matter, proof is in the puddin there. As far as your guys QB is concerned, I dont think he is all hes stacked up to be, just an opinion, base on no actual facts.
