MJR
Too much class??? drug addict, alcoholic....he'd fit right in. Looks like the Pack is in last place in the division.By the way the Packers have won the super bowl 1 time in since The Vikings have come along.Da Bears
buzzsaw
Oh that loss at home to the bears will leave a mark at the end of the year!!! Atleast lose to playoff teams!!
bottomfeeder
buzzsaw,This coming from a guy who's team last year lost to Arizona last year? A game which meant everything to the vikings and nothing to Arizona.
MJR
BottomYou silly packer fans, do you ever enjoy the season that is under way this year or is it always 1967? What ever happend to the pack last year in the playoffs after they backed in????? That was impressive. The Vikings were not that good last year and it remains to be seen if they are as good as I hope they are this year. One thing is becoming clear the packers were not very good last year and it looks like they are not going to be good this year either.
buzzsaw
Well said in my defense!Bottomfeeder, like the gentleman above me said... do you Packer fans EVER live in the present or is it all in the past?? If you like the past try thinking about your own little playoff games against Philly .. 4th and 26!! or at home against Atlanta in a game that you are heavily favored.... You see most Minnesota fans don't play that card... it's stupid... but I've come to expect it from the foreigners to the east of here! Oh and by the way... how are your Brewers and Bucks fairing the past thirty or so years???? I guess your state couldn't support a pro hockey team either... I could go on and on but I'll just let you live in your little past and in your grandpa's past.
bottomfeeder
You see MJR and buzz, I was not the one casting stones, calling out a team for losing to an inferior team. I was merely pointing out, that the packers aren't the only team to ever lose in a such a fashion. Your vikings have done it during the regular season, playoffs, and superbowls. Lets face it, they are the champions of losing to inferior teams. Now to your other point about living in the past. This is always the biggest difference between viking and packer fans. The difference being that packer fan can look back and with lovingly fondness, recolect past championship seasons. The vikings? Well lets just say, their past is filed with one disapointment after another. But I'm not so blinded as not to look to the future either. The packers? They will be just fine, making the playoffs, and then we will take it one game at a time from there. The queens? Using a little trend anyalsis here, I foresee another epic meltdown. It's just a matter of when...regular season, playoffs, or SuperBowl?Oh and by the way. I'm a MN guy through and through, just always liked the pack I guess. Go Twins! vikingtom
What inferior team ever got to the Super Bowl. KC, Oakland, Pittsburg. I don't see any inferior team make the Super Bowl.
slick814
MJR - I think you need to look at your history books again...The Vikes came along in... 1961....Super Bowl 1 was played in 1967... SO the Packers have won 3 Super Bowls and been to 4 since the Vikings came along... And like I said before.. DEFENDING North Champs... not 10 years ago, not 20 Years ago.. RIGHT NOW... backed in or not, the banner still hangs over a silent & saddened Lambeau Field after yesterday's fiasco... but one game doesn't make a season...------------------Fishin' is lifeThe rest is just details[This message has been edited by slick814 (edited 09-20-2004).]

Lost
LOL. You kids get so emotional over pro sports. If you ask me, they should use their own money to build these stadiums that they want our tax dollars to pay for. They're the multi-millionaires, not us. Why can't they pay for it? And just because a team does great one year doesn't mean anything for the next year. I'm against the Viqueen's in every game except against two teams: Dallas and Oakland. They didn't fail me last night.
MJR
Yah I had no idea when the vikes came around, I guess I was not into history as much as Packer Fans. However I did do some checking yesterday and saw that in 1918 the Boston Red Sox beat the cubs for the world series. Whoooooooooohooooooooo did I celebrate last night that was awesome. I didn't think they were going to pull it out but whadaya know, what a series! I called up some of my cub fan friends and really gave it to em. It was weird though they almost seemed like they had no idea what I was talking about. I didn't care though I just kept going on and on about it with no real point or no reference to the fact that the sox have not done much since then. But I tell ya what I am holding on to 1918 baby.Oh well now that the season is under way I guess the vikes fans and the packer fans just have to sit back and endure the march to mediocracy......or maybe not for the Vikes.Go Indy!! Lost
Well, with the list of injuries that the Vikes have right now, it's gonna be a tough season.
bottomfeeder
I just went through and copied some quotes from you fine folks. Looks like you all need to update your unrealistic pre-season picks. Come on, what were you thinking? Only 4-5 loses this year?? Only a viking fan can be so optimistic year after year. The only quote that was anywhere close was mine.Quote:Tom Herman12-4, NFC championship game Quote:BorschI'm going with 11-5. I see them in the superbowl. Quote:United Jigsticker14-2 Regular Season
First Round Bye
Home Field Advantage
Super Bowl
Victory Quote:Eyehunterunited jigsticker....I'm with you, FINALLY, sombody knows what they're talking about on this thread, except I will say 13-3 regular season. Quote:So haardI say 11-5. Road wins against Philly, GB, Indy and even Chicago and Detroilet Quote:PikerI'll take a repeat of the start last year. So that's 6-0 and then I guess I'll settle for .500 ball the rest of the season. 11-5 North division titleQuote:BuzzsawI'm a Vike's fan and I anticipate an 11-5 recordQuote:Pikerliker12-4, win the division and play in the NFC championship gameQuote:PikeTipperI gotta say 12 - 4 and making it to the NFC Championship game. Quote:MJRVikes will be at least 12-4. Playoffs who knows probably Super Bowl champions.Quote:BottomfeederThe queens? Using a little trend anyalsis here, I foresee another epic meltdown. Guest
Geeze, you cheeseheads win one stinking game and you think you've won the superbowl....get a grip! Vikes will still win the division and will make it past the first round. How's that for an update?
genegodawa
Tom, Tom, Tom...Good one. Never show fear to the enemy!I think that the team that will lose fewer games to the second division teams will end up in the playoffs. Right now neither defense can be too proud of their records so far.
muskybuck
I do not think we have to worry about the pack or the vikes being in the superbowl this year.Peyton Manning = MVP Thats my guess
united jigsticker
Pep and Manning, co-MVP's. Vikes finish 12-4 or 11-5. When Moss returns, watch out! I also hope the Texans take the Pack.
knoppers
with our schedule remaining, and moss returning soon, 12 or 11 wins is possible. culpepper is a MVP and our running game is great, we just need some linebackers that can play football. I predict that houston beats the pack this weekend.
Piker
I'm still standing behind my 11 wins, although I think it's unlikely. I still see 10 wins being one more than enough to win the North and keep the Packers at home. The Vikings have really only been crushed by the Giants, they had a chance against Philly, Indy, and got jobbed against the Pack. They do have a nice schedule coming up.
BackHerUp
Vikings will finish 8-8 behind the Lions (at 9-7) and the Packers (at 9-7) who also have the toughest remaining schedule of the NFC North...oh by the way, the Bears will finish at 7-9.
